Alright... since I know very few of you, and even the people on here I do know, I admit I don't know very well, so it might be interesting to hear what some people outside my normal group of friends have to say about this.

Where do people go nowadays, aside from bars which I pretty much despise going to, to meet women?

I didn't make it easy on myself when I decided to buy a house out in the boonies where everyone in the entire (small) town seems married with kids, except me, ;). I don't do bars much except for an occasional visit after work for a bite to eat and I don't fancy spending my evenings going to bars to meet women anyways dealing with smoke and loud music. Not to mention, it's difficult meeting anyone when most of my friends are also married, with/without kids, and are even older than I am (most of my close friends are in the late 30s or early 40s). None have single friends so that's not even an option. Work isn't an option for me either based on the business I'm in.

So... single... early 30s. Where to go? I've tried yahoo.com and match.com in the past, but they were a bust -- maybe it's different now though, but I doubt it. Seems like theres 3 bazillion guys for every 1 girl on there. Rare chance of meeting anyone on there it seems...

My one main hobby (cars) isn't the ideal place to meet women either as it's basically a gigantic stick-fest. Maybe I should switch to that latest-craze picture-book stuff chicks are into... whatever the heck that stuff is called (it eludes me at the moment). Bah.

So. Anyone else in the same situation? Just looking for ideas. And no thanks btw, I'll pass on the Russian bride services off the internet. Unless of course you can find me a real hot one at a steal of a price. LOL.

First off I would suggest moving to a location where you can meet the kind of person your looking for. IF your a working professional try the 3rd ward area, if you are you bible thumper church of course. Do volunteer work that is always a winner with the ladies. Other than that I dont have a whole lot of usefull tips.

Church can be a good place like was said but grocery stores, dog parks are too. Try fitness clubs. I know you don't like the bar scene but how about karaoke night at some small place. I met mine at karaoke and she wasn't a drinker. I am older than most on this place. Before I found Lori, I was dating a lot of the girls who showed at karaoke. My best friend had lovely assistants for his karaoke show and I dated almost everyone at least once. Used to piss him off big time. I am not the best looking guy, but these girls were HAWT.
