Ok so Im looking at buying a Digital SLR for the gf. The one im looking at is a Cannon EOS 20D. Is this a decent camera? Also She has a film SLR and I really wanna make sure the one I get here the Lenses from her Film SLR will work on the Digital SLR. Thanks!
Technically they will work, but if you want optimal results, invest in some high quality Canon L glass with the 20D. It's a very capable cam, but optics are paramount. She will love it.
I just picked up my 40D not too long ago.

the 20d is a pretty nice camera and like he said her lenses will work on the 20d...or any canon slr for that matter.

If her film SLR is EF mount, the lenses will work. If it's an older Canon SLR it may be a different mount....just look on her current lenses to be sure.
And yeah, 20D is a very capable camera.

Rebel is EF mount.
Like I said, your lenses should say the mount on them....at least my Canon lenses do.

If it is a EF lens it should work. From Canon's website under the Rebel XT page " compatibility with over 50 EF Lenses ". To make sure before you buy go to a Mike Crivello's or Art's Cameras to double check.
