Well, prior to BCM going down, everyone should remember that we decided to get my dad's '84 928 finished after we tore it apart 4 years ago. It's currently at Project Two Customs in Waukesha, and all I can say is WOW, it looks awesome...

So... On with the pictures!!

(More Pics to Come...)

P.S.

Here's a video of it running for the first time in 3 years! Yes, it's in high idle, that's because it needs a good tune-up, and it was cold... :thumbsup

Yes it is! Thankfully things are going alot easier than I first expected... After Project Two is done with interior, we're taking it to a 928 specialist to do some engine work, then most likely back to Project Two for paint... :thumbsup She should be complete by spring or summer (so we're hoping)... Interior will be done by the end of Jan... I'm just excited 'cause I havn't seen this car in this condition in a long time, and since it's been a big part of mine and my dad's lives (for the past 15 years) it's nice to see it coming together...

The non-run issue was because of clogged injectors, got that taken care of and now it's running like a champ. And it even starts every time...

but I can absolutely respect anyones passion. I have nowhere to talk here on ugly cars. I have one with an ugly exterior, and one with a ugly interior, and one thats just ugly.

I can't wait to see the finished result, based of pics of other one's I've seen I think I'd be pleasantly surprized. This hatchback is far quirkier than a DMC-12

Are the wheels going far far away? Is it getting lowered?

Trust me, I'll let you know... We're doing alot of suspension work on the car... And it's getting new wheels... 23 year old suspension FTL (minus shocks)

Yeah, they are a little pricy, but from seeing their work we choose them for this project because we knew that quality was our main concern for the end result. My dad wanted a stock appearing show car in the end, and that's what he'll get...

See above... New wheels will be ordered, and we are doing quite a bit of suspension work... I'll keep everyone posted.

And yes this car is something that both of us are passionate about... :thumbsup It's like an old friend, and it's not going away anytime soon... :thumbsup

Have you considered taking the car somewhere besides project two for a repaint? Their 10,000 dollar repaint is no different then a good shops 5000 dollar repaint.

Uhh he musta sucked at maintaining it then... My dad's had his since '92, it's got 125k miles on it, and it don't leak a drop of oil, not even after sitting for 3 years...

We'll see when the time comes... At this moment We're pleased with their work, and don't see why we would take it anywhere else...

I wasn't making fun of the car, just reflecting on past family experience with them.

Ah, at first glance it looked different... :durr My dad's just never had any oil leaking issues with any of his Porsches, and I was just kinda dumbfounded if you were ripping on the 928 or whatnot, I mean of course I'm going to defend these cars... :goof

Happy holidays to you too, man! :headbang Yeah. I definately was not knockig the car, because I love Porsche.

He drives a 2008 Cayenne Turbo. My stepmom drives a 2008 997 C4, he also has a '73 911 2.8 and a 1996 911 C2. Looking at a new toy for tracking, i'll update in spring if it arrives or not. :D He's on the fence about selling the '73. It has not been driven in 13+ years. Just sits. If you know anyone interested, let me know. Very solid condition. As far as I could tell, no rust.

Yes, I know someone who might be interested in the '73...

Very nice line up btw... My dad's had a '97 993 C4S Widebody (Factory Aero Kit in Guards Red supposedly 1 of 15 in the US with the factory aero kit), '01 996 Twin Turbo (Autothority Chip, Suspension, Exhaust, Cup tires, and some JL Audio and MB Quart Stereo Upgrades), '01 Boxster S, '99 996 C2 Cabriolet (Daily Driver, hard top equipped), and a '04 Cayanne S (LEMON!!!)

Personally I want to get a 928 S4 or GT (possibly GTS if I can dig up 50k for a nice one) one of these days. And I'd like kristie to get a 968 Cabriolet as a toy... Plus I'd like a 944 as a Track Car/Driver... :thumbsup

:rolf :rolf Well it runs now... We thought that it needed a fuel injection computer (and prior to that we thought it needed a fuel pump, but ruled that out), but it turned out that it most likely wasn't making good contact. I removed the plug, cleaned up the terminals a little, plugged it back in and it fired on the second try... And now it starts every time...

I know it's been a while, but there were a few kinks that had to be worked out and it's about (give or take a little time cause 928 parts take some time to get) 3 weeks out from being finished...

First off, we finally got some wheels for it... It is getting lowered, but, man do wheels make a huge difference :thumbsup

Before (Factory Phone Dial 16" Wheels):

After (18" BBS Moda Wheels Polished, not Chrome):
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d181/joe53051/9283-16-08005.jpg

And some work that's been done...

This is the part around the Instrument Cluster (not completed yet):
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d181/joe53051/9283-16-08006.jpg

And the stitching on that:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d181/joe53051/9283-16-08007.jpg

Looking in through the hatch area... You can see the dash that's been entirely redone in leather:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d181/joe53051/9283-16-08009.jpg

And the Possible Custom Sub mounting/DVD Changer Mounting Area... For Subs we have 4 6" JL Audio Subs, and it's getting a Alpine 6 (or maybe it's 10) disc DVD Changer... :thumbsup :

Overall diameter in the front is the same. I'm not sure if the suspension decided to not settle yet or if the lower profile tires just make the gap look bigger than before... The only thing that throws me for a loop is that it seems that the front air dam is higher off the ground than before... It don't make a huge difference though since it's getting lowered anyways...

Thanks! Yes, it will be stripped bare, soda blasted, and repainted to the exact stock color. Between Interior and exterior it will be receiving a head/intake port & polish, cams, and some other goodies, and the engine bay will be cleaned up alot. After that it'll be my dad's fun car/show car. I'm going to try to get him to put it in some car shows once it's done...
