Awesome picture!!! This is a great thread. I love old pics, especially when there's old-school modern muscle in them.. Awesome!!! By the way those aren't Grand Nationals, they're 87 Buick Turbo T WE4's. Basically a 87 Buick Turbo T in black with the blackout package, plain grey bucket interior. GNs had different wheels, interior, and of course emblems. The WE4 was a great way to buy a GN-look-alike for a few grand less. Lots of the WE4's were low option cars built for the track (lightweight). They only made 1547 of them vs. 20,000+ Grand Nationals in 87, so that is definitely a rare sight! By the way, the GN package was option code WE2, for those who were wondering.. More old school pics!!!!

Where is the front spoiler on those first two IROCs?

would they leave them off so they wouldn't damage stuff before sale? The front end on those looks like regular SC's w/out them. Hell the air dam hangs a hell of alot lower.

cool. to have a time machine. I'd go back and snap up a Copper '87 Iroc w/ the 305TPI/5-speed.

Then I'd bring it to now, and throw out the 305/T5 for an LS3/T56

I know, I almost bought a Copper '87 back in '04? I think that was the year, that 305/5-speed was an awesome combo.

Low mileage Survivor, no rust, but the little ghetto place wanted waaaayy too much. Sad, cuz i loved that cars look. Thirdgens rule. My favorite generation, the motors just weren't up to par compared to other gens.

Those were pretty neat cars with that color and powertrain...I do know we did not getta whole buncha 350 IROCS into our dealership ....it was fairly rare to see one...I kept a camera at work to take pics of cars....I guess now it was kind of a good idea to take the pics...

Rob Deer rockin' his mullet in the yellow Camaro....talk about a totally 80's picture right there.

It was pretty cool back then....Me and about 15 of my car friends would meet up every Satuday night in the back lot of the dealership as it was closing for the night...It was a meeting area to get ready to cruise the highway for the night....we cruised a lot back then.......The highway was A LOT different back then, just ask PROSHOWSS about it and I'm sure he will agree....

Also, it was pretty common to have Bud Selig bring hot dogs into the dealership for the employees....He would pick them up at the ballpark on his way to the dealership....It was neat having a job around cars back then....I learned alot ....

Pretty impressive memory...

What are the chances you'd remember the car I had from Selig? Silver with gray gut t-top 86' MCSS, customer ordered(RPO code 1AZ, IIRC) with every option a Monte could have...down to the block heater option which I don't think too many came with even around here. I'm assuming it was sold new there with the sticker, as the car still had the original stickers/decals when I got it in 00'. But by 2000 it was in pretty rough shape.

Dale Dineen? Damn that name sounds familiar. I wonder if he worked at Slocum at some point in time? I grew up basically at Slocum Pontiac. My mom has worked there since the late 70's. Dealerships were alot more fun back then.

I wonder if she still has some pics. I remember her having some with a bunch of 2nd gen Birds on the lot. From spring to summer my mom always had a Firebird as a demo. Either a TA, Formula, or GTA. Was cool getting picked up at school in a brand new musclecar.

Probably because you rarely see an LS that is stock and in nice shape :D . Either its a beater or a donk it seems. Looks fine to me but the small wheels (diamter or width) throws me off. Seeing a trailor full of Blazer/S-10's in good shape is also strange, since pretty much all old ones I see are total beaters. :goof

I used to work with a guy who said he stole 2 or 3 Iroc's from Selig back in the day... he was 15 at the time, said he never seen anything more then probation for it, I guess. Funny part was that one of the owners of the company we worked for, was married to a Selig daughter.... and Selig money helped start the company. Small world.

Love the pics! A buddy of mine has a Iroc Z (w/ the 5.7), its in very good condition. The couple he bought it off of kept very good care of it, and its sat in his garage the last 5+ years. The couple also has a very clean SS Monty, and a 454 SS Pickup.

some of the cars of today will still look new in 20 year. birds and camaro's are mostly fiberglass along with vettes. Saturns are mainly plastic. the'll look new from up top but underneath they might be ready to fall apart
