It throws you back pretty hard. If you don't have a good enough grip it would be pretty easy to go right off the back. Hardly any ice shavings when it takes off, it hooks hard.

Yeah we have snowmobiled there but those pics were from Chute Pond. They always put on a nice weekend of racing. That weekend I placed fourth in the open mod class. Not too shabby for a full weight sled.

a little tippy compared to mine or the older sleds, but not much differant than a f-7. the ride is awesome and the varible caster spindles give the right amount of handling in all conditions.

Acutally I have a friend that has an 07 dragon 700 and it had 2 re-maps....no good. It was crappy on fuel and my uncle's apex smoked it baaad! Also read up on HCS on these things.

Smokey I would get an 03-04 F7 NON SNO PRO! I had an 05 snopro, I weigh 215lbs and it was too stiff. Just rode an 05 standard F7 and it was great. The REV suspnsion is hands down better, but the F7 will be a tad quicker on top end, also series III 800 motors like to grenade a bit. I personally would look for an 03 ZR 900 standard. Do not get a sled with a 1.25 inch paddles on the track...it will slow you down at least 5mph on top end. Also the cats with diamond drive suck because they are slow on top end and usually geared way too big.

Smokey1226

Thats what my brother got a non- snow pro. He was waiting and waiting and waiting for a non snow pro but all of the diehard snowmobiles that come into our Gas Station kept telling him to stay away from the snowpros and get a standard. So thats what he did. He loves it and from the time i've been on it, its an animal!

i will put my rev againt a f7 anyday. f7's dont stand a chance from bottem to topend... not only are the skidoos lighter but they have more power&cubic centimeters.

i do like riding f7's and had a f6 befor this skidoo i bought... the way i see is... either f7 or rev you'll have a blast on!

oh come on, ACs answer to everyhting is to have suzuki just make a larger displacement motor to power something with the equivlent weight of a abhrams! and im pretty sure that the liberty is making much more power then sleds in the same class, and to top that off they are made in wisconsin

a clutch and gearing is huge on a snowmobile.... just clutching alone will make a huge difference!

stock for stock a f7 vs a rev800... the rev will donmiate bottom end or top end...

i ride a cat now, but consider myself pretty much open to any make out there.

even if you bleed polaris red, doo yellow, or yamaha blue, you cannot refute the domination of the 03 firecat in a straight line! what you are saying makes no sense. there is no stock 800 rev that will touch a stock 03 f7, and when talking modded, it is even more of a slaughter. find an 03 and race one. an 04 will take you from start to finish and the 05+ will give you a good run, but an 03 will make you look silly! with an experienced rider the firecat will give any rev a run in the twisties too, i sure remember passing a bunch of them on my f7 :rolf. brand loyalty blindness FTL. :chair:

first off its not too off topic... someone ask a question about what they should buy and i was giving them my OPINION... then sh!t hit the fan.

even when it comes down to the facts.... they weigh almost the same.... and make the same hp but the f7 is really peaky with its power/torque. The cubic centimeters take over on the rev and will dominate every time. so how can you say a f7 would slaughter a rev?? i have taken down every single f7 f8 thunder cat(and other makes too) i've ever raced.... maybe its because i am a smaller, expiranced rider but i have yet to be proved wrong. and like i stated befor i rode green for years befor i made the switch.... my last sled was a 04 f6 and have ridden f7s befor, and i can say the rev800 is faster. im done arguing over this so when you want to prove me wrong instead of talking about it then can find me:thumbsup

Smokey1226

either way for a 700cc sled to be able to be close to dead even with an 800cc is pretty bad ass. And i will agree i have seen my brother against a Ski-doo 800 and it was pretty close but my brothers 03 took it by a little. maybe the weight of the riders had something to do with it but in the end, both sleds are INSANELY fast!

man and i thaught those dragons were slow. just last week in minnesota my bro raced a dragon 700 and a older shitty kitty 800 with my cousins skidoo summit 670 on a groomed lake and walk them both till they had to let off at about 90 mph. niether sleds were with in 3 sleds in the first 100ft. after 90 i see them going by.

Had a 98 ZR 600 EFI, piped, stinger can, vforce 2's, Camoplast 1 1/4 track, studded, etc, then went to a 01 Sno-Pro 440 LC, with similar mods.

Got out of it when I had kids, just too much hassle with the truck, trailering, wating for snow, having to go up north every weekend, just got too expensive. Now though, would like to find a 00 or 01 Sno-Pro again just for shits and giggles now since i live a block from the East Twin river in TR here and thats usually 4-5 months of ice riding fun.

I had a 98 ZR 600 too. Awesome sled! It was the pearl white special edition. My next sled was a 00' ZR 500 and now the F6 and ZRT.

My family is big in snowmobiles. Right now we have one of every brand, polaris, ski doo, cat, and yami.

Here is a pic from last year

The classic, rev, and vector are gone. My brother is still riding the Apex (awesome sled) My Dad just picked up a REV XP 600 last week (awesome sled). And my Mom is still on her XCSP 500. My parents go through lot's of snowmobiles. I have ridden a sled in almost every chassis made in the past ten years (and i'm still on a cat :wow)

again you make me laugh with another off base comment :rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf

i ride a cat now, but consider myself pretty much open to any make out there.

even if you bleed polaris red, doo yellow, or yamaha blue, you cannot refute the domination of the 03 firecat in a straight line! what you are saying makes no sense. there is no stock 800 rev that will touch a stock 03 f7, and when talking modded, it is even more of a slaughter. find an 03 and race one. an 04 will take you from start to finish and the 05+ will give you a good run, but an 03 will make you look silly! with an experienced rider the firecat will give any rev a run in the twisties too, i sure remember passing a bunch of them on my f7 :rolf. brand loyalty blindness FTL. :chair:

I thought the 00' or 01' Yamaha SRX was the fastest in a straight line not an 03' firecat?

eh. I would have to go with the srx or t-cat. The vmaxx 4 made good power but not in the same league as the other two.

I know where you are coming from. Before I picked up the ZRT my dad was trying to talk me into the four cylinder. I have seen a few of those at drags that kick some major ass

if I was to put my momey on the fastest straight line sled from the factory, give me a Turbo dragon. The dealer convinced my dad into test driving one, he ended up buying it and the thing just rips, just spins the 1.25 ripsaw like theres no tomarrow

Doubt that it would even be close. The SRX's were monsters straight line most of the time beating zrt 800's. T-cats are the same way. Looooong legs. Plus spinning the 1.25 ripsaw? Any sled can spin the track like theres no tomorrow. Put that track on a 94 phaser and it will spin it.

thats why the thing pulled on a studded Mach Z with a guy on it that weighed a good 60 pounds less????

once again comparing it to a sled that isn't in the same league.

turbo dragons are not fast. An apex, Rev xp 800r would be that thing easily.

Well my brother just crashed his F7, anyone looking for parts? I highly doubt this one will run again. Front left Ski/a-arm/shock/spring ect are all garbage now. Entire right side is fine but front/left is done for.

i straight lines on sled suck IMO, but if i needed a sled to race to the end of a lake everyday i guess i would go T-cat. they seem to be holding their own even after all these years.

when it comes to the srx, i almost bought one. my buddy bought the srx and i bought an 04 f7 iinstead. he talked so much sh!t about how i was an idiot and that i should have bought an srx, blah blah blah. you should have seen the look on his face when i passed him on the flambeau flowage, ROFL!! i ran next to him until my speedo said 117, then i gave him the finger and continued on. my speedo ended up reading 123 mph. not sure real world speeds, that is what the speedo said. i killed him on the flambeau, lake gogebic, lake tomahawk, it did not matter. 117ish and i would pass him. if we raced from a stop, he never stood a chance?!?!?

anytime anyone says how magically fast the srx's were i laugh. just don;t see it. he still has the sled to this day, but he does not talk any more shit. he has been beaten by almost everyone in our group now, except for the f6, which still cleans his clock till about 80mph.

like i said earlier, i don't really get into straight line racing. throw a bunch of corners in IMO. when you have a sled that can run decently fast across a lake, rail through the corners, and not beat the crap out of your back and knees after a 200 mile day, that is a winner IMO!

arctic cat's TWIN SPAR CHASSIS FTW! if you have never driven one, you are truly missing out!
