Tonight is was heading home from New Berlin to Stallis and as I was stopped at the light at HWY 100 and National and I noticed something a never did before...I looked around and seen 5 different places that are the " lending store / checked cashed / title loans " in a VERY CLOSE proximity to each other on or just off HWY 100 and National intersection..

What's the deal on those places and why is there so many out there when there used to be nothing like that?

Those cash stores are all over the place here in the Chicago area too. They wouldn't be there if they didn't make money.

That shows how financially retarded or desperate many Americans are.

Guess I'm gonna have to move soon... You know the neighborhood is going to go down when places like that start showing up. It's the same way with shopping malls too... When all thats left is nothing but stores that sell sneakers, baby clothes and cell phones. :rolf :rolf

Eh, people say things like that when Wal*Mart comes to town too...

These check cashing places are everywhere... Pretty much it's just a high interest short term loan for people that aren't good at managing their money or credit... People like that are everywhere...

Honestly half the customers at the 108th and Oklahoma stores are normal white people from all over the west side there. New Berlin, Waukesha and other points west, sure some folks from a po' folks zone venture out there but most the customers are just idiots who have over extended themselves weather it be with a new suv and a interest only loan on a new mcmansion or cocaine, hookers and potawatomi slots.

Could be anyone, plenty of folks coming in begging for $500 @ 500% apr and the person is pulling in $50k a year, $50k a year to me is *AWESOME* money.

Yes but when half these folks dont pay their loans back, Sammy "The Bull" doesnt come and take a finger off your hand for each week your late or whack you off at the knees.
The good customers who pay make up for the 50% of schmucks who get the money and never pay 1 red cent back.

Of course I'm biased as these companies have put bread and butter on me and my families tables for many many years now.

strongly disagree, mainly 1. i spend more then i make peroid. i could make 6 figures and i will still be broke, i will just have nicer things. I barrowed $700 because i was $700 short on a complete DSS motor for my stang and i knew a deal like that would NEVER come around again. and yes i am white and live on 20 acres in western new berlin..... But i will be the first to admit that i have a extensive collection of NWA, Ez E, and bone thugs in my car at all times.

You'd be surprised how many people make $50K and spend like they make $100K.

As to your earlier comment, I think the possibility of Moose and Rocco making a visit if a person doesn't pay up results in better collection numbers than the payday loan stores that just write it off if you don't pay. That is why the interest rates are so damn high for those payday loans and they are able to justify them because of this fact. You are basically covering for the people who don't pay which makes these loans incredibly stupid.

I agree but the liberals and other nanny stater crybabies are already trying to heavily regulate the industry and the industry doesnt need to draw anymore attention to itself. :shades

Karps TA

If you have good credit, you really woudn't be going to these places for money. The majority of people using these places probably have pretty shoddy credit.

12-17-2007, 07:13 PM
true. if you are that desperate where you need to go to a payday store, you probably dont give two shits about your credit anyway :rolf

So these loans are non-secured? Jeez, I can't even begin to think of the amount of people who dont pay

Windsors 03 Cobra
12-17-2007, 07:17 PM
The only secured loans are the title loans which are 25% of the loans.
Non paying customers can get sued, garnished and pestered to death but still the amount who do not pay is astronomical.

yeah, there were some interesting people the time i went in there. but for real, it was like $175 for the interest and all, and the ***** snuck in some hidden insurence thing that i didnt realize and the total was about $289, was a joke, i wanted to slash my own tires and have their insurence buy me 4 new ZR rated 17" tires. then id be satisified.:headbang

not true, if you need a short term loan that you intended on paying off real quick, you may not want to take a actual loan out, most hte time it can hurt your rating if you pay it off to quick, usualy 6 months or less.

Let me repeat what he said.

If you have good to decent credit- you would not need to go to the places, even for a short term loan because the fees and other incidentals make this "Short term loan" ridiculous. Better off charging on a credit card.

No matter what the dollar amount is or the term, these places are for suckers.

As the saying goes: "There's an ass for every seat."

so in other words, everyone with good credit has unlimited supply of cash? hell, i have decent credit too, but fact of the matter is that with the two small loans ive had since i was 18 im pretty much maxed out, even though i make monthly payments on time, i still have to small ammount of revolving credit to get a loan whenever i need one, and joe schmoe selling me a engine out of a storage garage on 4th and national probably wont take a visa :goof
