If you know of anybody looking for a set of the polished aluminum (not the plastic cap "chrome" clad ones) 20's w/tires.....I'll have some for sale soon.

I had Terra Grapplers on my Ranger. I love those tires, my F150 is getting them when my tires are junk.

Lookin good !
Nothing like an aggressive tire with good tread depth for the snow.

You probably wont have to crank the T-bars to make them fit either, i ran 285's on mine for 6 months with no problems before I cranked the torsions to level it out.

If you havent done it yet though, i recommend it, actually makes it ride nicer.

No T-bar crank for me....it can be too hard on ball joints. It looks fine the way it is. If anything I'll do it right and get a leveling kit. With the offset and backspacing I got theres plenty of room.

All the leveling kit does is re-index the torsion keys, its the same thing as cranking the adjusting bolts and it costs you money instead of being free. If you pay for a "leveling kit" your pissing money out the window! Also, it has absolutly no effect on your ball joints, I dont know where the hell you heard that. Its going to look stupid with those tires if its not leveled because the rear sits over 2" higher then the front.

Ive been down this road before, I may be worth listening to on this one.

But if you choose to blow your money on a set of re-indexed torsion keys and go through the hassle of changing them out, its your dollar....

ALSO....

You are going to immediatly notice that your braking just got worse, that extra rolling mass really makes a difference. Now im assuming that because you have factory 20's that your truck has the 3.92 gears in it. If you already hate the constant downshifting to 4th gear on the freeway to go up slight inclines, thats about to get even worse and when it comes to towing, your really gonna notice a lack in get up and go. If you have the factory 3.55's, your just flat out screwed and might as well just shoot yourself. If you dont know what you have lookin your glove box, its listed on the sticker in there. I would strongly suggest that you get on the phone and order a set of motive 4.56's if you dont want to loose your stock feel and power. I can put you in touch with a good deal on them.

When i bought my 05' ram dodge had a factory 7 year, 70K powertrain warranty, if you insist on running stock gears with those tires I hope you have this or some aftermarket warranty because your transmission isnt gonna be happy.

I still have the lightbar as well if you want it. Made it at work, tig welded, T-304 stainless, bolts to existing holes.

This was leveled on 285's

FYI....the tires are the SAME diameter as what was on there stock (275/60/20) and roughly 1" (20mm) wider....I don't know where you're getting all this loads of "extra rolling mass" from :confused

I have 3.92 gears and I really never had a problem with downshifting up inclines on the freeway either :confused

They are on the truck now and they don't feel any different power wise than the 20's did....but the ride is noticeable smoother (in part to more sidewall).

As far as the t-bar crank...I though almost everbody knew the negative effects.
Change your CV and ball joint angles more than slightly and you will wear them much faster than if they were left at stock angles. It's a fact. Does that mean that they will take a crap next week? No, but they will fail prematurely.
A major adjustment to the torsion bars ruins the suspension geometry which upsets the angles of the CV joints, ball joints and tie rod ends. The wear increases. How much is debateable. It also depends on driving habits.
A specifically designed "lift kit" uses drop bracketry and re indexed mouting points on steering knuckles to get around these problems.

It's Geometry/simple math. Any joint that is perfectly alligned will out last a joint at a severe angle. Drive shafts are another example. That's why people end up having to build custom shafts with an additional joint after a decent lift is installed or they do things like rotate axles or transfer cases or maybe get a slip yoke eliminator to decrease the angle.

People will post saying, "Mine works great, I don't have any problems". Give it time. A couple cranks on it isn't gonna hurt anything....but trying to level out 1.5-2" IS.

I think your conception on the suspension geometery being f'ed up is a little on the cautious side. The CV angles change so slightly its not even funny. When i had the truck re-aligned the only thing that was knocked off was the Toe and it was very slight.

There has been no proof of this being any harder on the steering or ball joints or any premature failure. Matter of fact, dealerships will crank the T-bars for you if you ask. They dont even consider this to be an issue. The upper ball joints on the dodge trucks fail because they suck, thats really all thats to it. They make aftermarket upper arms with better joints if thats what your worried about.

None the less, looks great, I always liked those wheels.

And as far as the rolling mass, I forgot you came down from the heavy ass 20's, everything is probably the same now with the lighter wheel but heavier tire.

In the end its your personal preference and how you just want things done and what you believe to be true.
