Ice is the only reason I stud my sleds. Mainly for stopping. Most trail/off trail riding that we do, studs do nothing. How many studs did you go with?

i went with 144 being an 800cc... maybe could have done more but i really didnt want to spend anymore money! its nice because i hook up good but am still able to slide in/out of turns.

On a trail sled the most I would go is 144. I only put in 102 in my Firecat. Still stops good, hooks ok but didn't see the need for more. On my race sled I have 274 chisel picks and that thing hooks like a mother.

looks nice!! how long did it take?

btw i have 192 1.5" studs and i will never go back to less. the hook on the trails is just amazing!! then i have a 1.25 ripsaw for the powdery stuff too. my only gripe is 600's come by me top end.

That thing looks mean all black. I prefer no studs, but I like polishing the corners and drifting around corners out of control, lol.

it took about an hour start to finish... ive doen this a few times:rolf

and thats what im going to get next year is a 1.5in track and more studs because by then i'll have a pipe, clutch and reeds.

Yeah hopefully next year I can put a 1.5" or 1.75" track on the firekitty. Right now the 1" is ok but I enjoy playing in the powder. Either that or we'll how the money situation is and try to get into a 08 XP 800R - Bad ass sled!
