radial engines just sound awesome when they flyby. i see all kinds of airplanes come into my work. they buzz our buildings and the echo off of the buildings is sweet.

Cool vid, but the lousy sound doesn't do the Rolls Royce Merlin any justice. Those things sound like pure piston driven sex when you see them up close and personal. Just imagine: The WWII Avro Lancaster bomber had four of those engines powering it... :shades

The P51 isn't powered by a radial, it's powered by the Packard V-1650-3, a Packard built version of the famous Rolls Royce Merlin, a centrifugally supercharged V12.

^^The second plane on the vid might have been an AT-6 Texan which was a radial. Hard to tell exactly what it was but it's a radial...

Yeah, it's an AT-6, but you really cant hear it very well and I believed he was talking about the video in general, hence my post.
