odd street racing ticket??

I was at a light tonight at a guy next to me a bike ask me to get on it and ass the smart thinker i am i decided to get on it, i got on it to show him and did notice the cop at the corner watching and i got pulled over, just so happens a gto floored behind me also, i simply told her my intentions of just showing off to the guy on the bike... so she gives me a street racing ticket for apparently trying to race the fricken car behind me :confused can i fight this?

i was on hwy 100 and bluemound heading home... not even in the cruising section. i let off after i hit second which is maby 35mph which is the speed limit.

they can still give out tickets for "accelerating". I would fight it, what else do you have to lose? But I wouldnt admit to doing ANYTHING illegal, let them prove you accelerated too quickly.

well my tires did squeel a decent amount, i dont think it would be hard for them to prove that.

well go to court. plead not guilty if the cop doesnt show up to the court date you get the ticket dropped. If he does show up the most they can give you is an unreasonable and imprudant speed ticket or excessive use of power ticket.

The imprudent speed ticket was supposed to be a street racing ticket but the two cops who pulled me over couldn't figure out the 'code' for it so they said that'll have to do. :stare :rolf

Id be very interested to see what they define as drag racing in the book-o-law. Definitely getting near the cop performance report time because lots of people are getting the weirdest tickets lately.
