I used to be realy happy with Scott until he really pissed me off. He had my car for two and a half days before I pulled it and told him I wouldn't be coming back.

I use either tint boys or kar tunes and I have never had any problems with either. They are also MUCH cheaper then Scott at blackout.

+1 for Blackout, the only place that will use vinyl over that junky dot matrix garbage on some windows.

Avoid Kartunes, they take your tax money and dont turn it in to the government, about a Million in taxes owed.

^ You have proof to that?

Out of curiosity I googled Kartunes and came up with this
http://www.dor.state.wi.us/delqlist/Top100dlnq.html

Looks like they owe the govt almost a mil in taxes.

+1 for artistic.

Kartunes $99 special is great for a beater, don't take your nice car there though. I keep watching the paper to see when they will lock up kartunes doors and auction everything off. The owner is over $250k in tax debt himself.

I had Pat at Artistic do several of my cars, plus my dads cars. He does good work.

What is the average cost at blackout?

pOrk

Blackout is the most expensive place in town, all he does is apply a film to the glass like every other place in town for twice as much money.

He charges something like 200 for a family car.

IF you have patience it only takes about 2 hours for a first timer to do the entire car. Check out http://www.tintdude.com/ as they have how tos and forums for asking questions and such on the subject

My brother has taken 4 or 5 cars now to be tinted at Kar Tunes. He always gets their top-level job at a fairly dark tint and every time they've come out awesome.

blackout quoted me $150 to retint my entire truck....2 door blazer=all glass....didn't think that was expensive at all

If you are north of milwaukee Just the Details in Slinger did an amazing job on Cole's Mustang. Weizers in West Bend did a shitty job on my GTO.

Funny thing with tint shops is every single one of them will re-tint any window they have done that has bubbles in it free of charge so paying the big bucks doesn't make too much sense.

I say take it in whereever you want, almost everywhere suggested does a great job and has no problem re-doing a window or two if you ask them to.

i just wanted to go darker not any problem with my tint....kartunes quoted me $250 even though i was a returning customer...blackout said $150

blackout did my 4 door GP. Great job on the tint, but I feel the doors could of been put back together better. I had to redo all the little plastic plugs myself. They were stripped out and didnt the interior on well. I didnt go back to him to have it remedied, just took care of it myself. Given his reputation he prolly would of taken care of it though.

I had Ziebart do my '01 Mustang.... I liked the lifetime warranty idea. The only thing that got me was having to take it back twice, once right after it was installed 'cause they tinted over the dot part at the top of the Mustang window, and the wind hit it and ripped it down real quick. The other at about year 5 'cause one of the side window was peeling, and the back window was peeling slightly as well... Otherwise, they had quick turnaround time, and a relatively quality job was done... They were also less expensive than Auto Sound and Effects II (which was right across the street before they demolished it...) :rolf

I disagree. You pay what you get for. The quality of the tint, installation, etc. Plus, if you go to some of the cheaper places, they leave a pretty large gap between the top of the window and the tint. Blackout's is all computer-cut and gets it pretty damn close to the glass. Plus it's perfectly even unlike some of the hack places that cut it by hand. I had my car done at Blackout in spring and would go there again. Just my opinion.

If you live out in this direction... KLS Window Tint in Oconomowoc has done a great job on two of my cars. I'm going back next Saturday to have two more done. She did my 2000 Trans Am two years ago with the whole rear glass in once piece and treated the dots around the fringe so they don't have that white look.

It's a small place, and not that impressive from outside, but she uses top notch materials, is very careful with your car, is particular with the outcome (did one of my truck windows over 2 times to get it right), and is affordable - $80 to do two front doors on a pick up.

I had to have ziebart redo my driver side window 4 times and have the glass replaced when they put 2 deep scratches in it some how. They had autoglass replace the glass and tinted it again(4th time) which was then short and showing light by the mirror. They fixed that with a piece of black vinyl. It still pisses me off. I'd never go back there or recommend them to anyone. This was the one on hwy. 100
