Bought a new TV and XBOX360

Well damn. Sold the '99 Z28 and figured I'd treat myself to a new TV. Now realize, I've been watching movies on a 8 year old 20" samsung, and a 5 year old 19" Sony(not too bad of a pic). So I went shopping and picked up by XBOX, forza2, battlefield2, and a WW2 fighter plane game(it's actually pretty damn cool).

Then of course the TV. I know alot of people get worried about the burn in with the plasma, but oh well, i don't play it for 10hrs straight(maybe 2 at the most). Picked up a 50" Pioneer plasma. Playing Forza2 on this thing, GOOD GOD is the picture incredible. Can't wait to upgrade my 29.99 DVD player to something better. Even though it's still has component video outputs, i just don't think I'm getting the picture quality. Got to pay to play.

Did the typical stayed up most of the night to play it thing. Couldn't pick which game I wanted to play more of. Did watch first part of Sin City on it though, heheh, awesome.

I got some other things I need to take care of, so a "hobby" is not on the top of my list regarding cars. Thought about what other things to do, and nothing I can think of has the same amount of fun as drag racing. So I'll just hold off until I can do exactly what I want to do.

yoosof, it's staying in Wisconsin, just not in this area. We'll see updates on it for sure. Not this board though I don't think.

I bought another controller, haha. Now I just need to get the wireless adapter so I can play online and have some fun. Still thinking I should have bought COD2 instead of battlefield, but oh well. Got to find Tigeer Woods quick too!

Which Pioneer Plasma did you pick up if you don't mind me asking? I bought a 50" Pioneer Elite Plasma and am very happy with it. :thumbsup

if you let them sit for a LONG time with a still pic, or if you are playing something that has a still background(think tetris).

I don't play more than 1.5-2hrs at a time because of my schedule.

i hvae it set to turn off the xbox after 15 minutes of inactivity and the tv itself has a screensaver after the same amount of time.


sup Junky!!! yeah it's gone. Won't have one for awhile(although a while for me is like 3 months, haha)

make sure you pick up the component cables or HDMI if your Xbox360 has that.

got the Elite package, and got it hooked up HDMI :) just waiting for the digital cable guys to get here now :) so the xbox is black and matches the TV. getting outta here early to go pick up a small surround sound setup :)

i'm still having fun whooping up in all the FWD and boosted/etc... classes in my stock Cobalt SS. I think I'm only level 6, didnt play it as much as Battlefield2 and Blazing Angels

yeah once u get live let me know i can probably gift u some cars on forza2. u can play your dvd's through the xbox it does a good job..probably better then the 29.99 dvd player ya got.
