there are smart people that get AWD (brandon two months ago)

and then dumb people that get FWD (brandon now)

j/k

the gen I/II come in both configurations.

GST emblem on the back is a fwd and GSX is awd... some tsi's are awd and some are fwd.... older eclipse gs's could be turbo and fwd or awd....

As far as badging...

the 90-94 Eclipses have a GSX badge on the rear bumper, and an A∙W∙D sticker on the 1/4 window if it hasn't peeled off.
the 90-94 Talons just have the A∙W∙D sticker on the window.
the 90-94 Plymouth Lasers have no badging that say AWD... not sure about the window sticker, can't remember seeing one ever.

95-99 Eclipses have a GSX sticker on the trunklid (except Spyder, they are only FWD(GS-T))
95-98 Talons (none made in '99) have an AWD badge on the rear bumper.

ya the 2nd gear tire spinning sucks....although the FAST AWD's spin the tires as well... there are a few out there...there is even one (that i know of) here that spins all 4 past the 60ft.

the 90-94 talons that are AWD will say "16V DOHC TURBO ALL WHEEL DRIVE" on the sideskirts just behind the doors on the lower rear quarter panel. It is a sticker, and some have had repaints with the sticker removed. If it just says "16V DOHC TURBO" it is a FWD version.

95-98 Talons also will have embossed in their sideskirts just behind the doors on the lowr rear quarter panel "16V DOHC TURBO", but the AWD embossing is on the right hand corner of the rear bumper below the passenger side taillight.

the 90-94 talons that are AWD will say "24V DOHC TURBO ALL WHEEL DRIVE" on the sideskirts just behind the doors on the lower rear quarter panel. It is a sticker, and some have had repaints with the sticker removed. If it just says "24V DOHC TURBO" it is a FWD version.

OOOPS...darn 6G73's screwing up my mind.

They are 16 valve.

If they were 24V, I would have gotten screwed too.

what no talk about 00+ DSMs?

No such.
Technically, there were no DSM's past 1994, as the joint venture was no longer.
Very early 1995's still had 'DSM' on the firewall sticker though.
95-99's were just grandfathered in :P

00+ Eclipse's have pretty much nothing in common.

nobody cares about the Dodge Avenger? Wasn't that kinda a DSM?
Nope, except that KLOWNIN guy, annnd nope :D

TSi were available in AWD and FWD. you could tell the difference by it saying TSi or TSi AWD.

I know a buddy of mine that went thru 4 of them. My cousin just snapped a timing belt on a 1992 EAgle Talon AWD Turbo. Wow was he depressed.
