Leave it to the venerable pushrod motor boys at GM powertrain to produce yet another ringer...

This is a BFS 08' C6 with the LS3 motor in it base line.

So they then throw a cam in one, with longtubes no tuning yet as the software is not available yet... The thing made 506 to the wheels untuned.

Yeah this thing is gonna be a bruiser right out of the box, hell with the cam your already out RWHP'ing new Z06's by 40 hp... Save 25 grand and put a cam in and go faster than a Z06... Well they better get that Blown 427 in there then!

Yeah, and from what I have seen the LS7 does not respond very well to a cam + tune, at least compared to these numbers. I've read like 480-490rwhp from one that way. You'd think it would be a little crazier with a cam.

Its hard to tune 06+ cars, no VE table anymore MAF and MAP only for inputs... very limited in adjustment.

ls3 is a 6.2lt correct? i just read a big article on them....now coming with full leather option....so they are making the interior better while they keep kicking ass on the motors

So not to get off subject but I just traded a 96 imp ss for an 01' vette convert and surprising enough being the vette hater I am I really love the car:) I would love to turbo this thing bacause I dont like the hood that the blower makes you go with...anyone have any good vette sites or good parts I should take a look at?? For a mere 350 horse it goes darn good. :headbang

And this is why my friends, I am saving for LS3 heads & Intake, same castings as L76/L92 gen IV stuff thats already been out.
All it has on a LS2 is 12 more cubes.

I'll have 500 @ the wheels still on stock GM parts, and a camshaft upgrade. Sign me up.

have tom **** with the tune first. get some bolt ons and have at it.

funny thing, it'll look this will be another 9sec capable car just like the new z06's were. Bolt ons and a 150 shot of nitrous going 9.88 @ 141mph. If the LS3's are 40hp more with the cam swap, you got a dirt cheap, reliable, 9 sec ride

Funny these Cathedral port heads that we've come to love are about to be a thing of the past.

They say these new heads right out of the box with zero porting outflow AFR 225's.

BUT, they do not have the thicker deck of an aftermarket casting.

staying n/a and boltons, i'm all for them. having a HUGE shot or BIG boost(20+) then it's ET Head casting or a set of All Pro's, maybe even a set of RHS head castings

I'm still intriqued how the dyno queens are doing with the TrickFlow heads

On a 90 degree, rainy day in texas....

LG cam (secret specs) but you can bet on low 240s for duration, headers and air filter.

If I can wrestle some money together I'll be getting the heads/intake then a bigger duration with a larger split, since I hear these need a large split to really make even power.

It really will be high power on a budget.

either way chris if you are truely going to go high boost, the heads will be likely to lift anyway. But I suppose if you got the money, theres always the LSx block, with more clamping ability.

For me it's about bang for your buck on a budget.

This will get me there. Now imagine if I came up with the money for a Maggie? Thats alot of HP right there on stock cubes.
Or a stroker..........
Oh what I'd do for a stroked, medium-cammed (so it's streetable), L92 headded, blown LS2.... Mmmm.... 455 cubic inches of blown, cammed goodness.

These pretty much ARE LS7 heads for the smaller bore motors. Maybe with the discontinuation of the sport appearance grilles and now they are fetching insane prices on e-bay I'll sell them to fund this upgrade. $200 grilles are now fetching 4 times that on e-bay.
