I like the panoramic of all the fronts... BTW we'll have to do a shoot one of these days, I cleaned it up for this past weekend, but I'm too lazy to do anything right now... :rolf

johnny, work with the custom white balance when you shoot at night to remove the reddish cast. You'll be amazed at what these cameras can do at night

Poorly lit driveways at night = A bad idea.

Sorry for the suggestion Johnny, I suck.

HAHAHA.....

Yeah, The lights are really orange there, but all the pics are at the same location.

J, I never played with the WB on my XT yet, mainly because I have no idea what the outcome will be. Practice makes perfect I guess, but with those lights, I think the camera wont be able to adjust enough. Anyways, I played with one photo in PS and this is what I got....

What do you think?

If you shoot in raw, mess with the white balance in post processing or when you take the picture.

Also consider, you're not shooting for a job or anything, you're only limited by the size and number of flash cards you have - so go nuts.

The wheels on that beemer are kick ass. Does he want to sell them??

I know for a fact that Al won't sell those rims; they are the limited edition BBS Ferrari F40 design rims used by BMW for that year.

Al's car is freaking CLEAN and rare!

John -- Awesome pictures! I really like the last one also!

I will have to get together with you guys next time hopefully with my ride for some pics!

Hopefully I will see you tomorrow at the Wednesday Night Club thing!

Is the BMW a 540?

twicks69
07-24-2007, 01:10 PM
I believe it is a 1995 540, but I don't remember 100% --- oops, I was wrong -- it is a 1993 535iM. My bad -- sorry for the misinformation!

Here are two more pics:

V8 or I6?

Johnny, the color temp is just way off (too warm). In the RAW converter in PS, just adjust the color temp to correct for the reddish cast. The custom white balance is easy to adjust. You just need a sheet of white paper and a few seconds to set and apply it when you are out at night.

Hope this helps. :thumbsup

here's a quick ninja style hii-ya edit I did on your shot Johnny...if you tweaked the color in the RAW conversion, it'd be easy

Photobucket is down now. I'll post a pic when it's working.

1995 with 130k. 2 owner car. Runs awesome. I took it to lunch and it drives nice.

I believe it's a 92 or 93 535i manual. It's set up for track as far as I know.

Tim, good to hear from you. How's that tranny holding up? Personal message me.

johnny--2k

It's a 93 535iM, M5 suspension components, Euro Spec 7-series front lip with functional brake ducts, short shifter, and a whole bunch of other things. The previous owner is a race instructor at RA and he had the Purple M5 at the chicago cruise. The M5 replaced the 535 that Al currently owns.

As for RAW, I have never shot in raw, so I may need some pointers when I do. I will try for the next shoot!

Anyone who wants in just let me know.....
