Careful, you wouldn't want to over-carburate that engine. An unresponsive dog isn't very fun to drive.

Does the carb have vacuum secondaries or is it a double-pumper? If it has vacuum secondaries, get the kit with multiple springs from Holley. Put the black spring from the kit in the vacuum can, then put in a .50 accelerator pump squirter. After that's done, put a set of 5.13 gears in the rear-end and then dial your timing up to about 60* before TDC. BINGO! No hesitation!

Right! Hence my post about him not wanting to over-carburate that engine and then my offered tuning suggestions. If he follows my advice, he will have plenty of snap down low and then that giant 650 will make for some huge top end. :wow

I would have to check, but Plymouth made around 15-17 of those cars, more than doubling his chances of having one Hitman! The last one that sold went for around $4 million or so. I bet his is the real deal, but even if it's a clone its a $100K or so car, even needing a carb rebuild.

I thought it was common knowledge that a 650 CFM carb was "perfect" for a 426 crate motor application. Forget the fact that stock 426s came with 2 such carburators, the factory was just providing a "spare" that's way too much CFM.

it's been a crazy week for Nicole and I too.

I found a great deal on a GTO that was refasciaed into an exact copy of a VxR500 Monaro, supercharger and all, then in the same week Nicole sold her mustang and picked up a GT500.

At least we still have a Red and Blue car.

I think he said it was a clone, I know of 2 clones that are 71 verts that are around here, and I know the owners of them. As far as another 71 cloned vert I haven't heard of one around here. As to why you would run with a 650 carb on a crate motor when MP says you should run at least a 750 on the 426 model. What color is your car and do you have any fender tag info, and whats the first half of your vin, so we can see what year, body style and engine size your cuda came with. I just got rid of a 71 340 4 speed N96(shaker) car last june so I know a lot about e-bodies.
