I've got a 4.3 V6 with the old style heads and intake, and I'm upgrading to Vortec heads which have a different port height and bolt pattern (and bolt angle) as any SBC guy knows. For the 4.3 V6 the only port fuel injected manifold made by GM (as far as I know) was for the 91-93 Syclone/Typhoon.

I bought an extra lower intake manifold along with the Vortec heads and now I need to have a machinist weld additional aluminum to the top of the ports (near the injector bungs) and redrill my new heads for the old bolt pattern. There are Syclone/Typhoon shops that do this but none are local and they are pricey, and the one I've seen in person leaks coolant at the gasket!

So I need recommendations for someone who can REALLY do this right, I imagine it requires having a spare 4.3 block to mount and measure things on. The manifold is rare and cost a good amount of $$$ so I can't afford a screwup. I intend to port the manifold afterwards to match the new taller Vortec intake ports.

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Notice the extra material added beyond the injector bungs:

Here's a side by side, unmodified on the left, modified on right. Finished product:

Hey check out the GMPP marine intake. It has the vortec head pattern, and is setup for standard injectors with fuel rails. The only thing Im not sure of is if your upper plenum would bolt to it or if you would need to go to the newer style TB. These things show up on ebay once and a while.
