Yes, I know we've touched upon this topic about 18 bajillion times, but TWC pissed me off yesterday and I'm contemplating DSL...

What's the Good, the bad and the ugly about DSL guys?? I've always been a RR fan, but if DSL is alright I might give it a shot...

If you dont do alot of downloading and just web browsing, DSL will be fine for you. Cable is still the way to go. I miss cable. I have satalite now as its the only way to get highspeed out in the country and its pretty good but pricy. Id say stick it out with cable.......if your used to it, you will hate DSL.

I do alot of photo uploading... And some downloading...

My guess is that I should call TWC right now and reschedule that appointment...

Like Breecher said, DSL is fine for browsing and stuff but for sustained high speed downloads, cable is way faster (~1.5mbps vs. 5.0mbps). You can also get the 8mbps "turbo" or whatever from TWC for $55/mo.

Breecher, Im suprised that you dont have RR in the area where you are in B-town. Its weird though cause I have RR in Ixonia and Cable but we can't get the digital phone atleast not yet.

On the border of Burlington/spring prarie.......cable doesnt even come close to us. I wish it did.......

If you want high speed DSL it's available up to 2mbps/mo for $40 and 4mbps for $50/Month. Thats with tdsmetro. I've had great service.:thumbsup

towards the end of the year here twc's rr service will be 8megs down and for turbo it will be 12 down

DSL has different speeds you can buy. You can get speeds as fast as TWC and it doesn't bog down during peak usage hours.

I can't stand the fact that there isn't another cable provider that can compete with TWC in our area, as I love the service, but think the price is out of line. I mean I pay almost $100 a month, and I only have the basic HD package (no pay channels), and RR. No phone, DVR, I mean pretty basic stuff, and I think $100 is almost highway robbery, lol!!
