old new but yea, if you mess around with your car, and you don't know what you are doing, fires can happen.

Once again proves GM is always late to the party. Ford's been having cars catch on fire for no reason for nearly 30 years.

379 Peterbuilt= fusepanel by drivers kickpanel, shorts and burns to ground.

80s-90s Chrysler FWD, rubber fuel lines to motor split from age, small fire
totals the $200 value car.

Freightliner FLT 120 chassis, weak welded ground stud falls off of frame
by starter, hood and engine harness burn to ground.

Ford Motor Company..........most any car/suv built at any year goes up
in flames for any number of electrical short (loooong list).

GM 3.8, spontanius internal combustion, intense burn hard to trace source.

There are lots more out there, manufactures know the problems.

You live close bye, stop by one night and we'll stop the Pete before
it catchs on fire! Basicaly you need to sheild the panel from water
seapage, when wet the load carrying powered switchs overheat and
that area is the weak link.

someone thinks its some wires by the starter that melts and shorts out. and since ther is no fuse it gets hot enough for somthing bad to happen. i guess they just got closed an investigation in june 07
