View Full Version : Got a Motorcycle!
About two months ago, a friend of mine offered me a motorcycle for free. He said the engine might be siezed, hence no charge. I came home from delivering pizzas and found it sitting in the driveway (wOOt!)!
So, I have a Kawasaki Ninja 250R. It looks like this, but the fairing is balck, not white.

Red x, crap...
I know very little about motorcycles, so this is my starting point.
It is a first generation.

My advise to you is: Buy a helmet and stay out of trees.

Very good starter :thumbsup good bike to start out workin on too. Be darn careful at higher speeds she is a light lil gal :headbang
Oh man, 250's ares are SOO much fun. First thing to do is turn the engine over by hand and see if she spins. If not, part the bike out for a grand and buy yourself a late 70's early 80's bike to bomb around on.

My first bike was a Ninja 250. I loved that lil thing, but one ride on a 600 and I was hooked haha. Nice starter bike though, you'll love learning on it but I agree be careful it's extremely light :D

Update:
The odo reads 58k miles.
Could a newer engine fit in it?

I don't see why you couldn't put a newer motor on your ninja 250 frame. I believe they haven't done many major changes to that size bike at all, but I could be wrong. Don't quote me on that.
Another update:
A buddy of mine wants to trade a yamaha cruiser of the same year for the kawasaki. I'm a bit more interested in the cruiser, plus I already painted the tank on it.
