Just putting this up here for those who deal with craigslist and selling items. As some people know im trying to sell a car and i got this guy who e-mailed me. yeah at first im like ok regular email. NOW this last one just doesn't sound right at all. what does he think im a fool? so im just going to give him a hard time in case he is for real. which i don't think he is at all. here is him email addy incase someone may run into him beware.

Any thoughts???

here is the emails so far

Bottom to top

Hi,

Sorry cash only and must be in person. i have never met someone who buys a car without test driving or seeing it in person. if i took a check im waiting until it clears before anything gets handed over. and it must be in person.once the check clears i will ask the title get transferd over before the car is in anyone hands but mine. give the check to your mover who can then pick up the car after it clears.

later,
mike

I had this happen on ebay the guy sends you what seems to be a certified check u deposit it and the bank will come after you for the money. Bad deal total scam. The guy actually sent me the check and I burned it. Then he harassed me for burning it..... and he didn't even win the dang car I was selling....ugh. so yea, sounds like the same ole scam:alcoholic

you can let craigslist know.

they can blacklist his MAC & IP as well as his e-mail addy.

No way internet sales involving cashiers checks and use of a delivery service with somebody who doesn't fully grasp the English language are totally legit :punch:

I really think you should string him along and screw with him.

One thing i've always noticed with these scam artists is they never clearly identify what it is that you are selling. They always refer it as "Your product" or "Your item" or whatever. Its very im-personal and clearly gives them away a scam. I agree, don't string them along. Your first initial email was sufficient enough stating you will take cash upon pick up & thats it! If they cannot follow through with the instructions, remain silent, and/or notify craigslist.

there should be no question in your head about this, it's obviously a scam! anyone who says "...in US Dollars" is obviously trying to fu(k you over.

yeah it just didn't seem right. he has not emailed me back at all and i contaced craigslist with email conversations.

i just want someone to give these fks some bait and do an ass whooping on these people. damn that would be great.

Its definantly a scam, If I were you id have fun with it and play along, and make him waste his time. Tell him the car is in chicago in a heavy gang area, tell him to wear whatever the rival gangs colors are but say its so you know its him.

that would be fun, but yeah i don't need people starting to mess with me. i don't need enemies. but yeah it is very tempting.

I had the same shit about a month ago on CL. Some guy e-mailed me wanting to immediately purchase my truck without looking at it. I replied that I will only sell for cash and have no desire to talk to him unless he is face to face with me.
