Over the weekend I sold my motorcycle. The guy I sold it to gave me the plate back and said that he is just going to get a new one and the he does not need it.

I was wondering do I need to cancel this plate or do I just not renew it next year? Or is this something I need to go to the DMV for?

You now have a new oil drain trough for your lawnmower!

Keep it and let it expire and it will be void then until you renew it. Or bend it and break it in to pieces and toss it out if you don't want it anymore.

I save all mine til they expire. Then if you get something that uses the same classification you can transfer the plate to it instead of paying for a new set of plates. :thumbsup frugality ftw

Hang it up in the garage, get the collection going.

Yup Plan on that I already got the one from my dad's old truck which I drove a lot more then he did, and now the bike.

I usually write the year/make/model info on the back of the plate before I put it on the wall. I figured someday when my grandkids ask about the plates I have all the info there...

Licence plates make great body filler backing area's.

They bend and cut like butter, weld easily and after
the heat has taken off the paint they sand smooth!
My old corner marker holes, antena hole and other
stuff is genuine WI State property.

My garage sounds like a wind chime when the wind blows from all the old plates.

Yep, keep it for the next vehicle but no need to do anything but let it sit. Pretty sure Yoosef took my parents plates when buying their old Reliant years ago, and we never got them back :slap: ;) .
