how does a mouse get into my dishwasher?

i have been finding mouse crap in my dishwasher. at first i figured it was in there when i bought it, but after a few times of cleaning it i realize that this is not the case:wow how in the hell can a mouse get into a dishwasher?? should be watertight and we always leave it closed. any ideas of where it may be coming in from?

my buddy had the same problemover the winter. they were inhis dishwasher and dryer.. he just put traps in the dishwasher, and dryer. 5 mice later and problem solved.
