well i finally got my trans and rear suspension parts.... so i can finally start this project! this weekend's goal is to have the motor and trans mounted in the car. then over next week/weekend have the rear suspenion started if not completed by next sunday:headbang then i will have to wait for my driveshaft to get back from getting resized. but anyway thought i'd do a little mocking up....

this is going to be fun!:wow

oh and in the first pic is $1500 in parts... not pictured is the other $3000 in parts! so i have over $4000 invested into it and have nothing to show for it expect a saturn with no motor or interior and some boxes! :chair:

ok well its in... but may do a little tweaking and such to get it just right... nothing is final welded, but it's more than tack welded in. Its not as low as i had wanted it to be, but maybe i will cut and drop the steering rack 2inches to help get it in a little more. so during this week i will final weld everything... pull the motor and trans back out, clean the crap out of the engie bay and make it look puuurrty. than go from there.......

Isn't that the one you just turbo'd??

On a side note... Is that a Guards Red 944 I see in the background in one of the pictures?

prince.... i got this motor from a friend... i didnt build it!!! trust me if i built it, the thing would be one nasty little sb... but i wanted to save as much money as i could for the rest of the build. i was planning on building the motor this winter. And as far as the rv cam.... i dont think its a true rv cam but its close to those specs.. yes a lot of low end torque and such. and 300 crank horsepower is what i was estimating max. i do have a decent ignition and i plan on running a good amount of timing. so i geuss right now HP doesnt really matter. just getting it going and working out all the little bugs. then i will worry about those 1/4 miles times and dyno numbers!

When you get ready to weld in the backhalf and need a
set of extra eyes I researched a lot and saved books/
articles when I did my oddball chassis:
http://hometown.aol.com/russjerome/page1.html
Swear I spent 100hrs measuring and 2 hrs welding.

This thread can stay right where its at. this is the sport compact section and that is what the car is regardless of the motor. please leave the moderating to those assigned to it. If you have nothing nice to say about someone's hard work , dont say anything or keep it short.

Racists comments wont be tolerated either as we should be grown adults. please keep this thread on topic guys. An immense amount of work and ingenuity went into his work and it sucks to see it bastardized by a bunch of small minded comments.
