anyways, congrats.

The ZR-1 was a full performance package. The base price of a 92 Corvette was $32,000 ish. The "ZR-1 special performance package" brought the price up to $66,000ish.

It included, all standard on the ZR-1 package mind you, the engine a 32 valve 4 cam 350 ci all alluminum V8, P315/35/17 inch rear tires, Heavy duty brake system, Wider doors and rear body to cover the wider tires, Low tire pressure warring system, Bose stereo and a solar tinted windshield. 375 HP and 370 ft lb of torque. The only 2 options were the second roof panel(one glass and one painted and 6 way power passenger seat. Luckly mine has both.

There were only 502 ZR-1's made in 1992.

The engine is a sight to see. Its huge and fills the whole engine compartment!!! I was parked next to a LT-1 car at a show once and the LT-1 looks tiny compared to the LT-5.(Not dissing the LT-1, very nice engine)

The thing pulls light a freight train and revs up to 7200 RPM, which I think is incredible for 1992 technology.

Hope that answers your question:D

There is actually a second key inside the car that turns on the secondary fuel injectors. They call it the valet key. When not turned on it only runs the primary injectors bringing the Hp to around 250ish and will only rev to 5K. You can remove the key and take it with you so the secondarys cannot be turned on.

In 1992 the LT-1 was intruduced and was rated at 300 HP. THe LT-5 was rated at 375 and in 93 went up to 405 HP. That was part of the downfall of the ZR-1. They were getting better and better numbers out of the LT-1, they could not justify continuing to build the exotic LT-5. And at the cost difference, people would not pay double the price for 105 HP difference. Plus the engine was not even being built by GM. It was designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine.

Whats was wrong or done to it? Couldnt have been cheap either way!

Last year the ECM went out. It took a while to figure out it was in fact the ECM. I borrowed a ECM from a friend and did some test run, which solved the electrical spaz out, but I noticed it still did not have nearly the power it should.

I did more research and tested the fuel injectors. I found 5 of the 16 were no good. I also found out it was not uncommon for them to go out. When the car was made, they were only using small amounts of alcohol in gasoline (2-3%) and now around here they use 10%. The injectors were not made for that amount of alcohol and the alcohol would eat away the windings inside and short them out. That is what happened to mine. I repaced all 16 injectors and paid $510 for the set. Not to badly priced I thought.

The ECM was about the same price because I refued to give my core back. I have all the original parts for the car except fo rthe windshield and oil filter. I wanted to retain as much original parts for the car that I can. I pulled the original plugs and saved them, kept the original ECM.

When I changed the injectors I decided to pull the plug wires also because they are not available anymore and a worth a ton of money. I see them being sold for $500 for a used set. They have "Corvette LT-5" printed on them and are numbered for each cylinder. I pulled them to keep them in good condition.

These are for last year and the year before. I did not take any pics yet this year as yesterday was the first day it was uncovered all year!! These are after I changed the rims though. It should have the turbine rims, but I pulled them to save the original tires. Plus they have the original stickers on the rims. These are aftermarket A molds with michilin 335/35/17 on the rear and 385/40/17 on the front. One size bigger all the way around. Plus I like these a lot better.

It still looks the same though...

I have not run it yet, because I cannot launch it yet. I have not found th sweet spot yet. Either I light them up or dogg the hell out of it.

Stock they were running 12.8. I want to learn to drive it and get at least a 12.99 before I go.

Thoes must have been modified slightly. I wll not see thoes numbers because of the stockness of my car. I am still running the stock exhaust!!!

I wanted to put an LT5 into an S-10 Truck, but was shocked when I found them as they sell for $9,500.00 used! So yup used the LT1 instead! But man that would be cool when you open the hood at a car show.
