View Full Version : Guaging Interest: My 19" Wheels....

Well, yesterday I was in chicago, and hit a pothole.

At first glance, nothing really wrong. After getting back on the freeway, there was a slight vibration. Took it to firestone by brookfield square where I had the tires put on, and two of the wheels are bent.

THEY STILL BALANCE PERFECTLY FINE AND HOLD AIR, but, I want new wheels, so this kinda gives me an excuse.

I would be selling the wheels, without tires, for less than half of what they cost new.

One of the two bent wheels also has some curb rash, just on the lip though.

After speaking with tirerack, the ASA is discontinued, however, they have two of them in stock, one brand new for $220 and one with a small nick on the front for $120. The wheels retailed new for $250 each. Also, there is a new wheel coming out (Sport Edition) that is identical since ASA changed manufacturing sources, and those are priced at $189 each, cheaper, but not the same brand unfortunately.

Anyways, if I decide to get my new wheels, these are up for sale. $400 takes them. I paid $1500 with tires from tire rack last spring, never on the car in winter. I will accept offers, but no low ballers....

So, PRICE DROP -- $300 FIRM (plus $340 for the two new ones from tirerack if you so desire) gets you $1000 worth of wheels. That's a 70% savings!!!:durr

Wheels have about 20K miles on them MAX, probably less. Been on the car for a total of 8-10 months....

Anyways, here are some pics, I will get pics of the curb rash later if you want them, otherwise, I will be at culvers probably tonight if anyone wants to see them or go for a ride to see there is no more vibration.

SPECS:

19x8.5 with a 40 offset and an 5x114.3 lug pattern.

Is this with or without rubber?

Those offsets may actually work on the Q.

I believe without rubber, that's a pretty good deal.....

If they were chrome I'd be on them like flies on sh*t, I have a pearl white J30 and don't think the alloy silver would look right......

correct, no rubber. I just spent well over $1200 on new tires, so they would go onto my new 19's! If you want the rubber, less than 5K miles, it's another 1,000 on top of that! Bridgestone RE050A PP 245/35/19, but I'd rather not sell the tires.

I thought of that, but I'd be cheaper just buying wheels already chromed.....:thumbsup

that's true, however, the chrome ones of these are normally $320 each, on sale on tireracks web site for $250, so you are still out $1,000 for new ones, or $400 plus the cost of chroming these which I dont know what it would be.

To have them done right I'm guessing all of $4-500 for the set, so you're pretty much back at the $1000 new.....

Hey Hennis whats the bolt pattern? 19's are a little big for me, but do they have the same pattern as a Volvo V70 AWD turbo wagon?

johnny--2k
07-07-2007, 01:32 AM
not sure. They are a 5x114.3, I think volvo uses a 5x120

Is this Paul?

Car Guy
07-07-2007, 09:38 AM
Many Volvo's are 5x108mm and I'd put money on it that a V70 is also.....

OK....either way, I knew it was probably not a 114.3.....

Yes This is Paul, I wasn't sure on the volvo's bolt pattern. Figured id ask, They would fit the Datsun but the off set is way off. Thanks for checking.

johnny--2k

no problem. They are actually a 45 offset, not a 40....
