I'm sure a couple of you have seen this building, it's on St. Martins Road in Franklin, 80,000 square feet of coper on the roof alone, tons more inside and on the walls. It's going to be a school for the Indian Community and its paid for by Potawotami(sp?). Anyways, I'm a local 18 union sheetmetal worker like lash, he does duct work, I do architectural, same apprenticeship though!

I don't understand why buildings in Wisconsin are built using that kind of material, or similar. Yeah it looks nice to begin with but in a short amount of time it'll look like sh*t......

Not to mention you're looking at a few hundred $$$ worth of copper there.....:shades

lol, people use copper because its one of the best materials at fighting the weather, yes its expensive but it can last for over 100 years, plus most people like the patina look, they dont buy it for the goldish color, they buy it for the green it turns in 20 years, and as for the cost, it was well over 1 million in just the copper, not adding labor or anything else

ALSO the copper thats inside is clear coated and protected, so it'll stay the shiny new copper and the kids at the school won't funk it all up

That is a sweet ass looking building, props on the work too. Copper is a cool material once it is weathered, thats for sure.
