Shooting my wad a bit prematurely here, but as you may have noticed I've had my Viper and Charger up for sale. Here's what I have a deposit down on, its not this exact car, but Underground Racing in NC is building me a Blue/White 1996 Viper GTS pretty much just like it as we speak. Should have it in a few months. 1500plus RWHP...

Why did you sell the viper if you were just going to buy another one?

Combine your charger and the viper in this new one....and paint it like the general lee!

I sold mine since mine was "only" 740 RWHP and supercharged, the new twin turbo setup will be over double that, and much "nicer" as far as drivability as well.

The hemi Challenger is still in the works, its currently still at OTE should be getting paint soon. I'm still planning on completing that, this Viper should be turnkey pretty much so I am thinning the herd as far as projects and the Challenger will be the only thing I will be wrenching on regularly with any luck.

Somewhere down the road I will likely try to replace my Charger with something more stock and numbers matching as a more drivable "collector" car rather than the street/strip car that I have now.

Can you confirm or deny the rumors you currently have "open" parking spaces at your residence? If true, this maybe a first since you were sixteen.... :goof :rolf

It will be virtually identical to Garth's powerplant wise. He has a bunch more really high dollar suspension and rear end and other stuff that is overkill IMO. He spared no expense basically. I dunno how much he drove his but someone cracked off those 7 second times! His is for sale on Ebay right now, which is kinda interesting.

Its not so much the job or that I have cash falling out of my ass, but the culmination of like 10-15 years of upgrading. I spent the last 12 or so years slowly building and playing with what was originally an $1800 primered Charger shell to the point where I should be getting decent money out of that. I spent some time dabbling in the Stealths and Talons and GVR4s before selling all of that to put towards my current Viper so I could afford it, then after 4 years of making payments and doing mods to my current Viper I have some very nice equity built up in that. Add all that together and its a good chunk towards this new Viper.

I can attest to that... I owned a few of Jim's cars. I like to think I was part of making this new Viper dream come true. So does that mean I get a ride in it for free???? :)

What year was that charger, and when did you buy it?? My dad sold his blue w/white mock top '70 Charger about 15 years ago for around that same price... Might just be a coincidence though...

Oh and on your new viper... I'm not much of a fan of Vipers, but that thing's BAD ASS!!! Congrats!! :thumbsup

My Charger is a 70, but it was a grey primed shell pretty much when I bought it originally.

Hey Greg, that must have been your SRT I saw at your dad's house, I was over there recently looking at one of his Javelins he was selling. I am sure I will bump into you at some point.

yup, thats mine. It has gotten new rims since then. Isnt going from looking at a Javelin to looking at a TT Viper kinda opposites?

Congrats I love the car can't wait to see it in person!!!:wow and it's just my opinion I would have went with a black viper with silver metallic stripes but I also think it would look good in almost any color!!

Moparjim
06-11-2007, 10:27 AM
Yeah I was looking at the Javelin as a project I could maybe put some work into putting together then resell somewhere down the road, since it was a nice clean body. I was still mulling it over and another guy here at work was much more into it so I passed and let him snag it.
