On LCD's with TWC your actually going to get a better picure on your NON-HD channels using Component versus HDMI. It it due to the compression and other techno-gee-wiz reasons. If you have HD Sat, then HDMI is your best choice if your TV supports it.

Now.... the newest level of LCD's -like the new Sharps (only ones released so far), have bumped up thier processing from 60Mhz to 120Mhz, So on those using HDMI with those w/ TWC you will see a clearer pic w/ less artifacting. BUT the artifacting is a function of TWC.

Only thing better than HD on the LCD with good cables is
a PLASMA 1080, broadcast on Discovery in true HD :)

Seriously I could watch cooking channels all night, HD
rocks! Im a nature freak so Discovery channel in true
HD just kicks butt.

My favorite is the Pioneer Elite 50". Followed by the new 1080p Hitachi plasmas and that new Sharp 1080p/ 120Mhz LCD. Without going broke over a TV, those are my recommendations

FYI / semi-related

The PS3's new free firmware upgrade includes FREE upconvert!
It's supposedly the best upconvert quality available, according to elitist snobs on video forums everywhere. :)

I would agree 100% and put the newer Samsung 1080's right in line
with the best Hitachi's. Pioneer 50" Elite is my favorite with the top
of the line Samsung a close second followed by a couple Sony's that
were pretty nice on the eyes during fast action 1080 viewing.

Worst part is choosing, 3 days off work just cruising the net and
viewing display models....lost more money not working than what
I spent on the new plasma.

because when it is HD it doesn't matter if what you are watching is good. You just watch it because it is HD.

I cant justify a plasma.. Bang for buck and picture quality for the dollar. I think the DLP 1080 was the way to go......
