anyone have a stump grinder. I have 11 stumps to grind out at my house in racine. I can do it, but i just figured i would ask if anyone has one before i rent one. I'd rather pay someone here than the rental place.

I had a few in my yard that were about 2 ft wide and a foot high. I dug a trench around them, poured on some diesel and a bag of charcoal. Let it burn for a few hours, chopped away with an axe and let it go the rest of the day. Worked great.

That sounds pretty costly/alot harder for 11 stumps though.

skid steer with a stump grinder tool attachment...done!

dig around it, tie a tow strap to it, hook it up to your truck in the road, and have fun doing some nice 4x4 low range burnouts while yanking them out :headbang

With how close they are to the house, i'd probably rip out the foundation. Plus with 11 of them, im not digging all them out. I'm just renting one from the place down the street. I should be able to grind them out in a few hours.

It burns nice and slow so it works its way down and burns out the stump, old used oil works really good too. Gas would just torch the outside and burnout.

Thanks guys. I picked one up this morning and had all the stumps done in 45 minutes.
