Any Lightbulb Experts...???

I have a light on my garage that takes a GE Lucalox LU70 high sodium bulb. I know you can't change up the watts but is it possible to use a different kind of bulb; something that will last longer, give off a different light, or be better all around. I don't know much about this stuff so I'm looking for some info.....

If I'm stuck using only this bulb please let me know too......

I have used mercury vapor bulbs succesfully in high pressure sodium fixtures, mercury vapor emit a blue hue instead of orange, either bulb should last a long time.

Take the bulb with you to the home de-pot, menards or any local place you like and make sure to get the same base. Save you're receipt :)
