86 rx7 GXL 73k 355SBC/350 turbo 2800stall 244/244 .612 solid roller cam, canfield 200cc heads, ETC>>>> it needs some finishing but I think I can get it for like 4k should run pretty hard.. just a little spray and I think 10's would be on the horizon...

It'd be a hell of a lot cooler if you could get it all under a stock hood.

Now that is some motovation! My buddy has a 86 base model RX-7 and we are in the process of swapping from a 4-lug set up to the 5-lug brake set up on all 4 corners as well as swapping out the rear end for a factory LSD one.

So what would you do with it? Is it very streetable? Can it run in any classes at GLD?

It is hella cool, thats for sure though.

Love the look of it! 3-4" cowl hood and I think it would be complete.
At 4k you should be ahead on that one! :headbang As long as it's a runner and there's just a little to do to finish her up I say YES! :thumbsup

Jeez...you are right about only a little spray to get it in the 10's. Like maybe a 50 shots and it's easy tens.

I'm no expert on rx7 motor swaps but check out the motor mounts. Did the guy fab them himself or did he buy a kit from a shop?

V8 swap kits for RX-7s are dirt cheap it seems, i dounno why you would go about making your own.

www.grannysspeedshop.com or something like that offers them of like 200 bucks.

i think it's a steal considering a clean fc shell would cost close to 1.5k by itself

it has the grannys conversion....... I think I am going to buy it. The guy said $4500, I offered him 4k and asked him if he could meet me 1/2 way between him and I because I have to rent a truck and trailer to get it....

swap an ls1 in it with a cam and be done!! sbcs are good, but for cheap bolt ons, ls1s are the way to go!! just look at turbogarret

that would be the plan later.. buy a wrecked lsx car with a 6spd and make it more of a handling car. but for now I would drag the shit outta it...
