when you take the road test, it says that your cycle needs to have turn signals, rear view mirrors blah blah blah... and then it says exhaust. do you think i can take my test with this vvvv ????

ive heard of ppl getting away with an aftermarket pipe, and ive heard of others not being allowed to take the test cuz they have one. i just said screw it got my temps and ride whenever i want, if you dont act like a jag the cops dont even look twice.

Id be less concerned about the exhaust and more concerned about that undertail turnsignals. Im not sure what wisconsins laws on turnsignals are but im pretty sure that they have to be a certain distance away from eachother and a certain color as well. Most states are All or none when it comes to turn signals, not sure what wisconsin is.

You could always take the course to, that bypasses the road test.

It is always a nice piece of mind though to have the license. Do you have any friends with a more stock bike you could use or any that have a stock pipe? Otherwise, just go in and give it a try. The test is a breeze by the way. When I took mine in West Bend everyone told me to listen for when he would flash his brights, so I would know to nod my head like I was constantly checking my mirrors. Practice doing a slow turn while leaving both feet on the pegs. Also if they still have the rolling stop test, just go about 15-20 miles per hour and lock up both brakes like they ask. My buddy did like 40mph and the back locked up to where he almost dumped it. Not good.

hello, when i took my test it was on a gs 750 with a header. i think blinkers will be ok. like they said test is fairly easy , my test guy told me where he was going to flash his lights. i got my license last year. i was told still a good idea to take a rider safty class at matc, classes may still be open cost is $200.00. classes are on sat. & sun. mornings. they also have classes during the day . i am at matc south.

250 bucks? I took mine last season and it was 140 bucks for the class through MATC.

Keep checking the website, people drop those classes all the time. Thats how I got in.

Lakeshore Tech up near Manitowoc is cheaper then MATC if I recall. They usually are not as hard to get into as MATC either. I could always check with my mother, as she is an instructor for LTC's motorcycle safety and a Rider's Edge coach at House of Harley.

Not sure if you figured something out yet, but I spoke with my mother about Lakeshore Tech. They still have openings for classes, and I believe they are less then MATC also. From what I understand is that the Tech school MSF classes are state sponsered. They have a set state wide cost for tuition. My mother has no CLUE how MATC is getting around this with raising the cost. Apparently that is a big no-no. Either way LTC is cheaper, has openings, and if you are lucky you could have my mother as a teacher.

Rick

Just found out the course is $120.52 at LTC. They have day, night, and weekend classes...though I am not sure what openings are where.
