Alright guys (and the few girls on BCM), I really need a trailer on May 17th. I am willing to rent one, so just name your price.

Looking to buy one before July, but I need one next week, so I would prefer to do more research on finding one at the right price and quality before handing cash over.

If you can help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Going to Gingerman in MI and would be towing it with a '98 E-150 with brake controller and the 5.4L V8.

you think you have enough suspension for a 24 footer? It gets kinda scary when the wind blows with a half ton...

Eek I don't know about that one. I don't have stabilizing bars, which would make that a pretty scary ride.

I was more looking at an 18' or 20' foot ideally.

blah blah blah. I got a friend who consistantly tows his 26ft enclosed twin axle trailer all the time with his 1997 chevy 1500 Z71

not someone elses trailor, and with a 3700 lb car in it to another state and back.

I've already towed this trailer with my Dad's 99' 1500 to Madison and back with just an RX7 in it. Wind on the freeway can be scary/dangerous.
That's why I have a 3/4 ton...

-1 for you

-1 all you want. get some experience pulling a trailer and you can handle anything the road, traffic, and weather may dish out to you.

learn to pull a trailer. get the proper equipment. A load leveling hitch with quick disconnect sway bars and you can pull a 24ft trailer with a ford ranger. at that point, it would just accelerate slowly.

And I don't have a load leveling hitch - that's what I meant about the stabilizing bars. We have them on our enclosed trailer for the racecar and our motorhome, but that's a 60 ft. rig when it is all together, and they make a world of difference.

But I am not towing with that. I am towing with an E-150. And I rather not have trailer issues while towing a car.

So back on topic, anybody? Pretty pretty please with sugar on top?

doesnt matter what you are pulling it with. if you want to be safe, get a second load leveling hitch. if the shit is gettin blown around every time a semi passes you and you catch the air from the drift, you are endangering yourself and others on the road.

You should know that in Mikes world a chevy silverado 1500 can do anything. Havent you all noticed that yet? I wouldnt hook a 24' up to my chevy with the stock suspension. Mabey if it had bags.....

load your shit correctly. its not like its rocket science. when I pull my buddies 26ft enclosed, we keep the car positioned over the center of the trailer axles and the tools in the front. gas cans behind the car. it does it fine, idk what you pussies are complaining about.

I have a dolly you could use

michelle

Thanks, but a dolly won't work as the exhaust would be dragging. And maybe the rear bumper too.

Thanks to those who sent me a PM. I should have a better idea tomorrow on what is going on. Again, I really appreciate it!

Why not drive the car?

would an open car trailer work?

michelle

Why not drive the car?

Because we're taking it on Gingerman and running it. And it's a '90. We rather play on the safe side. Easier to tow it there then finding a way to get it towed back. (:

That's more what I am looking for.
