Looking for a nice restaurant to take my mother to for mothers day/birthday (her birthday is the 10th). Looking for somehting different, unique, with some style, and of course, excellent food. Type of food is not a big deal, we like all kinds, and would be open to something new. Any suggestions?
Ocb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

like Lance Said,
The safe house, that place is always an experiance.
and you can never go wrong with P.F. Changs by Mayfair.
if you want to try a place that isn't too local come down to Popeyes down here (not the fast food place either) this place is awesome!

Moceans has some of the best seafood in the city IMHO.
Sabor is different and good too.
Karl Ratzch's is some of the best German food in the area.
Three Brother's is also good, it has very nice Serbian food (among other things).

Moceans ($30ish for entrees) and Karl Ratzch's ($20ish for entrees)are both downtown almost across from each other. Broadway and Mason.
Sabor is on Water St. (~$42 a person, all you can eat more or less)
Three Brother's (IIRC they were around $15ish an entree, but it has been awhile since I was there) is in Bayview.

Pieces of eight on the lake in Milwaukee is a very classy place. Great food and an even better view. I was there this past saturday and noticed they were having a mothers day brunch. Might want to check that out. Expect to dump about $60-$70 for two but well worth the prices in my opinion.
