last night I had the car up to 4500 rpm in 5th gear wich if I calculate right is 156mph.

I have 3.73 255/50/16 and a .60 5th gear....

no more street racing for me:stare

sure why couldn't it? No governer and modded I don't see why not. A dued I hung out with back in the day had a 94' SHO and we had the speedo way past 140mph on the freeway and it was actually starting to go around all the way back to 0 mph. We had to have been going over 150 easy and it kept pulling hard as hell.

That was the fastest I have ever gone in a car, Mike it was Luke SHO Nolan!! SHOOOOO!!!!

Probably. But I bet your tires' rateing wouldn't sustain much more of that...

SHO SHO SHO!!!! It's SHO time! Fukin garbage!!!

Fastest I had the balls to go was in my 93 Q. 150 on the speedo and still felt like it had more. They have been GPS verified to 161 mph.:wooo Bone stock out of the box!! This one had 200k on the clock and it was still doing it.

no. Top speed stock published by those aussie's is 178mph.

I wonder what the top speed is on my 00' TA? In my 94' LTuno had it up to about 125-128mph going down the rock freeway heading south towards Big Bend years ago.

My current I haven't pushed it past 108mph and probably never will push past that and the only reason it was going over 100mph is cause I was at the track. Otherwise I think I'm done going that fast, I wouldn't even want to think about how large the ticket would be if you were to get busted.:(

The rock is awesome for top speed runs.

The rock is awesome for top speed runs.

I had my 900 RR up to 160-170mph on the rock and over the hoan (spelling) bridge I had my 90 GT speedo buried at 140mph before 794 was there heading south which would of been down hill. After that I got a sticker that said after 140mph please roll up all windows.

Went over 150 in my dad's 996TT... ('01 911 Turbo)... Even with suspension mods and such it was scarry... At least to me... Then again... I don't exactly think that the roads up here are nice enough for good stability...

Usually I limit my speed to how much shaking I can handle.

I think I had my integra up to about 130 a few years ago. The speedo is optimistic, so it was more likely around 120 or 125. I'd say that is good for 140 hp.

This fella that Mike and I use to know back in High School thought that the SHO was basically a God. Everything and anything that had to do with cars revolved around his SHO.

He would talk about how he raced a Cobra or a 4th Gen Fbody and destroyed it by 10 car lengths with his SHO. Basically his car was the Superman of cars he thought. That was until his way to work at American TV one morning he had bald tires and was going around 60+ down some back roads in Mukwoango and lost control of his SHO and rolled it a few times and basdically flattened it.

He walked away from it all with a few brusies and such, he claimed that he wasn't wearing his seatbelt (liar) and that he just held on for dear life while the car flipped and rolled. Even though he had the brusies on his upper body that were consistant with a seatbelt bruise during some type of impact.

Well that doesn't suprise me, and people like that regardless of what they drive are ignorant as hell. Although I do own one I don't think there the fastest thing on 4 wheels, I just think there a great mix between practicality and performance. However, if you want to sink a ton of money into them you can get them to hang with some pretty fast stuff. I was in one a few years ago that was door to door (and starting to pull) against a stock 03' Cobra, the guy couldn't believe it:wooo .....

I just like the look on someone's face when they see a stick shift in a Ford Taurus, that's of course if they don't know a thing about them.....

What about that song I forgot who sang it but after he herd it... "They made this song based exactly on my life"...

He got pissed off at me cause that Danielle or what ever her name was came up and talked to me in the commons instead of going and talking to Luke, he pretty much hated me after that took place cause he thought I was trying to move in on her when I was currently in a relationship.:banana1:

I pegged my R6 up in the holy hill area. Pegged my 90 GT that was mainly stock aside from a bomb ass suspension.. Haven't done a top speed run in the Cobra, the tires scare me. Prelude tops out at 132 indicated.

R6 was 178 indicated, so roughly 160
GT - was... pegged, so no idea. Top of 5th in a lightly modded low mileage 5.0
Cobra -will soon find out
Prelude... :rolf :rolf :rolf

But i would say you should have no problem doing that speed in your car.... Gearing is a bit high... but you were probably close..

the newer t/a's i guess are supposed to top[ out at like 161 mph I'm estimating this of course but everyone i've talked to has said anything over 120-130 you can feel the car get less stabile our cars get light in the front end at higher speeds :( highest my T/A has been is 130 somthing and i let off.

Lingenfelter ran a Camaro & T/A both past 200mph during high speed stability runs & both will go to about 220 aerodynamically. Granted thier motors were far from stock but no extra wings or anything like that for downforce. Jim Moran's Camaro from Speed Inc went 199.xx w/ no probs. Tires, tire pressure, suspension

last year motor trend did a shootout on a bunch of souped up cars, and stock.

i believe the S197 mustang, aka "brick" hit an aero wall around 175ish.

If I recall correctly the GTO in the test did 197mph in the test before something went sour. once fixed it went north of 210.

thats a stupid scary speed.

hmmm seems funny after 135 mine sits right down and keeps climbing my roushified brick must be a bit more aerodynamically correct i would love to top it out im hitting 145 just getting into 5th wich is overdrive.

agreed, though the hood shakes like crazy i think it handles great at around 140. i think it is the way the front valance is angled, really holds the front end down. hood pins will help with the shaking hood until i get a new hood.
