Do you know a guy who had a restored green Yenko a few years ago? It was at the good guys show, I forgot when he sold it.

Rallye green car? We did have the other remaining unconverted 68' COPO 9737 besides this bronze one.

But we had two Yenko's prior:

69 SYC Camaro, Hugger Orange, black vinyl roof, black stripes 1 of 1 with the only Z16 interior optioned yenko car

69 SYC Chevelle, LeMans blue, white stripes.

The car is currently parked next to mine in the garage. We are keeping it for now, if someone offers the right amount of money it could go down the road...

IMO its a hard decision, at this point the car won't ever be driven, it deserves to be displayed in a museum though, not packed away in a garage.

For example I would keep my dads '55 bel-air and drive and enjoy it, since it's not rare and unique.

In toms case, he can look at it. he can roll it on and off a trailer. he can start it ocassionally, but thats about it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, The color is called Corvette Bronze and was available the final 6 months of 68' Camaro Production. The color was not real popular back then.

It the old school equal to GM's Sunset Orange Metallic, and when next to each other the color is almost identical... Pretty crazy for laquer!

Sorry to hear about your dad. If that was his enjoyment and he passed it on for you to enjoy it, there is no price in this world for that. Heck I would drive it, take it to shows that what it was ment to do. Yeah it looks good to put in a museum, but lets face it we only live once and cars can be restored again, enjoy it thats what that car was built for!! If you take out some good insurance you shouldn't have to worry. I'm not saying drive it every day but take it out. Oh yeah if you do take it out can I have a ride??

yea man, but this is a irreplaceable car valued around a quarter million. one bug on the grille and it'll need a body off resto.

My dad has over $120,000 in his car that was restored and he drives it, he just has very good insurance in case of someone that might hit him, but again my dad doesn't take it to national shows just local shows around home. I would drive it!! My 69 Bee has nice orginal paint and is pretty much irrreplacable and I drive it, not long trips but enough to take it to shows and beat on it. If you go back to the 60's and 70's and ask where these car will be in 40 years most people would tell you in a junk yard. Granted today is more collector status than anything but the key that these cars hold is memories that can't be replaced, most people over look that for the $$.

This thing will not be driven, It starts and runs like a million bucks, i have driven it around parking lots and on and off the trailer... it hasnt run for more than 5 min at a crack.

When you stick the money into it for a resto, and it being 1 of 2 left in exsistance out of the 6... its not advisable to drive it and or beat on it.

It is an investment, and the vaule will drop considerably if its driven after the resto, you get dust and dirt in place you cant get to, and somone who would look at this car or buy it would be a real pro, and you couldnt hide that it has been driven...

I dont have an urge to drive it eithre i guess, its prolly slow, and will be sloppy being its age...

The special disc brake YF coded steel wheels were 4 grand alone for a set...

I can really feel for how much Jr. has been thru this year. I know I couldn't imagine having my father pass at a young age. Whenever I look at my dad's Bel-Air I always will think of him, as it's all I think of. I know for me the hardest thing will be when he goes, what to do about the '55. It's been with him since '78, tons of shows, cruising back in the 80's and i personally did alot of the work on the last restoration back in '99/'00. Funny thing about cars, they are more than metal and plastic. They do have a soul, and with them are pleasant memories, some not so pleasant but you always remember the ride.

I know my attachment is a little different than Jr's since thru my childhood the Bel-Air was always there, and it always the ONLY car. In the 80's till the early 90's my dad also had a '66 El Camino, but heck that was a year-round daily back then. I know Sr. had alot of different cars over the years, it just happened to be in the last few years he was rejoined with his ORIGINAL ride. So Jr. himself can't associate all those memories for that particular car, but still obviously there are tons from other cars.

The only other car I remember in the Billigan stable was the Chevelle and a certain real fine 409

Great story, sweet Camaro.

I wouldn't be able to drive that either, but then again I don't know if I could own any car I wouldn't/couldn't drive...I'd rather have something that I can beat on a little bit and not be too afraid of value dropping :D.

There is a guy in AZ his name is Bill Weisman (last name spelling?) he owns the 1st 1971 hemi cuda vert built the last 1971 hemi cuda vert built and the 3rd 1971 hemi cuda vert built. He drives all of his cars. The last 1971 cuda vert he was offered 4.8 million which he turned down cause he was looking for 5 mill at the R&M auction, out of all of his cars that is the one that is driven the most. As far as an investment I wouldn't classify them as one. Right now prices are high, but once again just like the late 80's and early 90's the bubble is going to burst, and cars are going to come down in price.

x2 I can't wait for the market to tank, everybody and there brother are going to try to unload their stuff. And I will be waiting with cash in hand. I could care less if my superbee goes from a $70,000 car to a $12000 car that will be fine by me, that jusyt means I can buy more cars!
