The top gold seller in 2005 made over $88,000 in January and February alone.
He had an 'off' month, only making $23,000 in April.

So, if you average it out, he is/was making $444,000 a year.
Everyone can call them losers/pathetic all they want, but that's probably wayyy more than anyone is making on here :)

Of course this can't be done by 1 person alone, the people that make that much money have hundreds of people employed, doing nothing but farming for gold/items.

They are legitimate incorporated businesses, that file taxes for their income.

Over $2,000,000 USD was spent on WoW gold in 2005 on eBay.

eBay has since banned listing/selling of virtual items, but there are thousands of websites for it.
