... after the 2007 season. He will be missed for sure. He is a great guy for the sport. He is so down to earth to talk with etc.

Can't blame him for wanted to spend time with his family and watch is kids grow.
He said it well, he has lived his dream and then some sacraficing quality time with is family. Now he is going to spend that quality time with his family.
Gotta respect that !!!!

Yup, lots. Eric is the 4th close friend he has lost. He's re-evaluating whats important.

I totally respect his decision ,but will miss watching him run.One more reason to make it to Joliet this year.

suck to see not only a great racer but a great guy leave the sport. my stepson and myself both got to talk to him last year in joliet and shake hands he is a great guy. he will be missed

Yeah, actually I just read that, he stated he was contemplating it before the accident. I would guess that the accident made his decision for him. I'm just speculating though, I know he was good friends with Blaine Johnson, Bruce Sarver, and Darrell Russell. Now he lost Eric Medlin too. It really sucks.

I respect his decision, but I will volunteer to fill his seat.

I cannot even fathom what that must feel like.
