So I have always used Mobil 1 synthetic in the past with my cars and trucks but im trying to decide what to use on the the new truck. I like to stick with 1 oil for its lifetime and I want to know what your oppinions are. The reason I am considering using Q synthetic is because advanced auto actually has a buy 1 get 1 free going on right now with no limit and as dumb as it sounds, I could save ALOT of money if a bought a dozen cases of oil right now.

So lets hear what you guys have to say.

Mobil one is no longer full synthetic.

Thats all I used to use. Jumping ship to maybe ams oil. There are guys on the Q boards using the stuff and they change their oil once a year. They just change the filter here and there. After a year oil analysys, the oil is still doing it's job.

I personally buy Mobil 1, but will you notice a difference between synthetics? In my worthless opinion, hell no.

Go for the 2 for 1 deal!! You cant afford NOT to. :thumbsup :goof

I am not expert on oil but these are relitivly the same product. Personally if you find a deal I could go for it.

Same here, I voted for Mobil 1 but if AMSOIL was an option I would have voted that.....

I cant justify the price of Amsoil as I am meticulous about changing my oil every 3K even if its not necessary.......

Actually, if you would modify your 'urge' to change the oil every 3k you would save money AND many hours of actually changing the oil itself.....

I thought the question was, "Should I buy the 50% off oil, or pay full price for Mobil 1." :durr

If the question is "what oil do you use/prefer?", then I want to change my answer. LOL :rolf
....because I'm the one idiot that didn't vote for Mobil 1. :goof

GTO's need oil?? lol maybe someone should let Dan know about that.

Mobil 1 ftw, but definetly Royal Purple or AmSoil if you want to spend a bit more at once.

I get a kick out of those that recommend oils. What do you base your recommendation on?? color? smell?? aesthetics of the bottle it came in??? lol or have you actually experimented with different oils and had oil analysis done to help you decide on what oil works best in YOUR application based on WEAR values. Every engine is different and what works best in one doesn't mean it will work best in others. LS1's seem to like the European spec stuff (German Castrol 0w30, Mobil 1 0w40, etc) based on UOA's. Royal Purple has been iffy for the LS1 based on the wear numbers I have seen from those who run it.
