How would I go about registering a vehicle in a county that I don't live in. I plan to register it at a relative's address and have permission. I'm just wondering because i've heard times when it has worked and then some times when it hasn't worked.

Just a quick thought to consider- Would having a occupational license hinder any chances of me doing this?

no it wont hinder you out of doing this...you just put the county that the car is kept in on the county vehicle it is kept in and turn it in. If you get an emissions card, call up the dmv and tell them that "hey it is kept in XXX county and not milwaukee" and they will fix it

NO, just write down the county and city/town/village that it's kept in and that's it. The less ?'s you ask the better.....;)

i did this with my Monte SS...it's easy...they ask no questions...the registration renewal card was sent to my address even though the car was kept in another county....i had it registered in Kiel..and the car was in Germantown...did it for 8 years....nothing was ever said....everybody does it...don't worry....

my insurence dropped too doing it that way...i had proof that my car was no longer kept in milwaukee...so it dropped big time...a extra perk for doing it that way.....................

god damn, I never thought of it that way. What should I do, call my insurance company, tell them my junk is elsewhere, and show them proof of my registration application?

Thats exactly why there are DOT investigators going to the addresses that DONT match county kept in......but the chances are slim.

By the end of the year we wont have to worry about emissions at all anyways, I can't wait till they drop it :-)

democrats still run this state don't they? they need all that money for special programs that help the "disadvantaged" people with caddy's still living at home with momma on welfare

i doubt they'd get rid of the emmissions with all the possible money it'd bring that they could use for sales tax at the repair shops
