New troubleshooting technique I have never seen. Next time I have a car problem I am going to put the screw drive to my ear and hope it tells me whats wrong...LOL

Ok so we have obvious metal/metal contact inside the motor.
Lets see how shall we aproach the diagnostics here....?
A# Take an oil sample quickly from drainplug, catastrophic
failure will be obvious so we wont push iron thru the head
and turbo wrecking everything by running it too long.
B# Just run the sucker, hell something is toast anyway and
the $3800 lower end rebuild will give us an excuse to upgrade
the turbo to the tune of $1400 more while I deliver pizza's
to pay for a car I know nothing about.
C# Cut the sucker up, hell its junk now anyway and the insurance
money will pay off the car, I cant afford it delivering those
pizzas anyway.....
I was waiting for him to rev it up...lol.

I'm pulling a truck into the shop for a "low power" complaint. In my
bay Im told to pull it outside and pull something else in. Later that
day I pull the same diesel in, rough idle like a miss but nothing horrible.
In the shop I pop the hood to test exhaust temps (mechanical motor)
while it's running..........there is a 8" hole in the block and I'm watching
the crank turn at 750rpm less one rod/piston that has made its way
back down into the pan...in pieces. Its a cool thing to watch, just
glad the few "windowed" and running failures I've seen happend
before I stuck my head under the hood to inspect :)

this is no lie. we had a camry that a tech took for a test drive that threw a rod cap out through the radiator and a chunk of the rod dented the hood. un f'n real
