So with opening day already here what do you guys/gals think will happen this season? Plenty of good news and players this season, the starting rotation for the pitching staff as long as they stay healthy it is solid. 5 solid starting pitchers is unherd of for the Brewers.

I believe this year they will be awesome and I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict the seaon will end up 98-62.:thumbsup

You need an option between winning the championship and finishing .500.

I think they'll have around 85-90 wins and be in the Wild Card race, but will likely not make the playoffs. If people stay healthy, this could be a very good team. Just wish they could have got rid of Jenkins and Mench.

Yea I think they'll finally be over .500 for a change.

Could go either way though, they're always injury plagued.

The NLC looks like a toss up between St Louis, Chicago and the Brewers. If the Brewers can stay healthy and not tank from injuries I like their chances.

I'm rooting for them this year big time cuz they have a solid platform which should help them do well this season. Injuries will make or break the season....

i vote above .500 but not winning the division... it'll be interesting to see if they all stay healthy this year... if they're not plauged with a lot of injuries at the same time, they might actually go places this year..

Sorry little brother, they will be average because like usual, their pitching staff will be injured. Thus, leading the team to another below average year, I'm quite used to it.

I have to vote for .500. I just hope they don't start off good and then just get lazy like they seem to do every year.

If Sheets pitches all season like he is today, they are going to be a force.

No doubt man! He has retired 18 straight batters only has given up one hit and sadly it was a bomb to Jef Kent, but that guy is a beast. so far so good they are all batting awesome and being extremly patient and their defense is killer thus far! I know its only the first game but this should be a promising season!!! :banana1:

agreed, however, this team is built properly. good offense, good pitching, good pen. its all in place to do well, but unfortuntley, now they just need to DO it. as for the jenkins/mench platoon, believe me, there will be plenty of production there Jenkins struggles against leftys, Mench against righties. if one of them takes off, they'll be traded anyway, its a win-win situation.

Karps TA
04-02-2007, 05:34 PM
I'm just not a fan of Jenkins. Never have been. I woulda traded him for a 12 pack of warm beer. I think it's not a coincidence that as drug testing comes, his power numbers go way down. Great arm in the field. But the guy chases more bad pitches and swings harder at them then anyone I can remember.

They will probably be a .600-.650 team this year.
Theres a lot of other good teams this year.

I just got back from opening day. If they swing the bats like they did today and have good defense this season should be a good one. Way to go Sheets for pitching 9 innings allowing two hits and one run

On negative to the season. This new annoucer is terrible. His voice makes the broadcast sound like it's on AM radio. And he has zero personality. It's not like baseball is the most exciting sport to watch to begin with. Atleast the last guy and Vaskersian before him brought some fun to the telecast.

Bill Schroders new partner on FSN the dude that replaced Darren Sutton, he is the worst TV announcer I have seen, Bill and Darren complimented each others personality so well and Darren sadly left in the fall after last season. But this new guys totally sucks ass.

That was John Kruk, and it was in their "Bold Predictions" segment. Which is just them making out of their ass comments for fun. I doubt Kruk really believes that.

How's this for a wierd statement.

Brewers have the best record in baseball. And it's a month into the season. lol

I didn't care for Darren either but your right the new Guy stinks. IMO Matt Vasgersian was the best one the Brewers have had.

anyone else besides me actually feel a little bad when the brewers pounded the cards (and are right now, again)?? i'm glad they are winning but me and my friends were watching last night thinking it just adds insult to injury after what happened to their pitcher...

My buddy works at the restarant in the hotel that the Cards stay at. They came in the night of the accident and they looked pretty somber.

Do you feel sorry for any other drunk driver that runs into parked cars in the breakdown lane and dies? pffft.

There are no details to release yet. Toxicology report should be in Friday. But sounds to me like either he was drunk or fell asleep. People don't normally crash into tow trucks on the side of the road at such speed that it would kill him on impact.

Nix
05-02-2007, 02:56 PM
yeah it sucks that their teammate passed away but they also have a job to do. Do I feel kinda bad that the Brewers whooped the shit outta the cars? HELL NO!!! Its been long over due for the Brewers to break out and kick ass, now is the time.

Its a beautiful thing that our home town Brewers swept the world series Cardinals and now tomorrow the Pirates come to Miller Park for a four game series. I will say though that it seems to me no matter how bad the Pirates are doing they always seems to give the Brewers trouble.

Goat Roper
05-02-2007, 03:09 PM
The Pirates look good this year. They lost that suspended game from last night today and it looks like the Cubs are going to beat them again today which will put them 5.5 games back before the series starts tomorrow night.

Looks like Pit has Gorzellany on the mound tomorrow night. He has a 3.06 era and doesn't look too bad. The Brewers got Bush on the mound, he gives up more runs than bad potato salad.

Karps TA
05-02-2007, 03:11 PM
Only on the Road. At home Bush is a force.
