Anyone know someone that knows their way around cell phones? I dropped mine in the snow and the 2-way speaker is mostly static now. Its a Nextel i850. I would just buy a new phone but Nextel phones arent the cheapest.

well you're phucked? even with a contract, nextel phones are a few hundred. try ebay, they might got somethin on there reasonably priced.

ooo, my bad. I thought you were simply not replacing the phone because its priced too high, and therefore offered ebay as a suggestion to a relief in prices. carry on :D

I had to use that tool on mine after dropping it in a little water.
For how much cell phones are a part of most everyday lives why cant they make them a little more durable!! They're pretty decent at being shock resistant but if a couple of drops of water hits it they're dead. I dropped mine and it bounced out of the kitty's water dish. Maybe only 1/2 - 3/4" of water!

yeah thats what I usually do. The water got on the speaker and the speaker is half blown thats the problem.

hmm when i dropped mine in the snow i just took it apart blew out the speaker with some of that compressed air in a can let it dry and put it back together and it worked fine but if this was a couple months ago you you could try that but at this point i dont know if it will do any good

Just take it to the nextel shop and they'll fix it.

The place that does TC's is on the southeast corner of Hwy 94 and Hwy 18 (The building next to eastbound 94 on ramp).

I heard that they were gonna lay you off anyway. Thats why they arent gonna waste money on getting you shirts.

I think it was something about standing there with your hands in your pockets.

:devil

More than likely. Shouldn't be too long though considering how busy the Milwaukee area is.
