I picked up a spare fwd Ford trans today.The guy said the diff fell down but the gears are ok.Id like to get it rebuilt, but i havent dealt with any trans shops before.Im wondering if it would be easier for me to just split the trans apart and see if the trans looks ok.It has low milage and im not real sure how the diff falls down, but thats what i have for info on it.Its a spare trans, so maybe ill rebuild it myself or just take the diff out and throw a new one in along with new carrier bearings.Can anybody chime in on how hard a fwd trans is to rebuild, or any good shops that might check it out for a decent price.Id like to do the work myself but maybe i could just get it checked to see what i would need fixed.Whatch guys think?
