View Full Version : K&N cleaning...

Never used one before, so what type of cleaner should I use ?

Picked up a CAI for the neon and it came with two. From what I can remember there is a K&N cleaning kit from K&N. I'm sure its a arm and a leg so what DIY cleaners can I use and not hard the K&N element ?

id just go with the K&N cleaner. its 14 bucks from napa or somethin, and its good for a couple of cleanings. Id recommend blowing out the element first before washing. Make sure you blow it out from the inside directing air towards the outside. Then wash it, again, from the inside towards the out. spray the cleaner on, wash it again. dry it off with compressed air, from the inside out. if its full dry, spray on the oil, otherwise let it sit a lil while to dry.

ive got my k&n recharge kit that i used on my filter a while back.Your welcome to use some of it if youd like.Ive got plenty left.

yea that shit really goes a long way for 14 bucks. I might even have some leftover cleaning products

if you want to get the K&N recharge kit, i bought mine from autozone for $10.i have a large cone filter and id say i could clean it probably 10 times with the amount they give you.

Whats wrong with 15's ? Its a standard E.T. for Mustangs :popcorn

Hell $10 for the recharge kit, I would be stupid to not purchase it. For whatever reason I thought it was $35-$40
