What, if any, cars can donate a transmission to be installed in a 1996 SHO?

Looks like the '96 & 97 SHO's are your only donors.

Thanks for looking that up Jeff. I just picked up a '96 for about nothing. Has some trans issues, but goes down the road. Very nice shape other than that. Black with gold trim. :pimp:

I just registered at SHOforum.com, thanks ses.:thumbsup

car-part.com

96 and 97 only for you chief. It's an AX4N trans but IIRC the case on the SHO cars is different than the 3.0 cars. Pretty sure the guts are the same.

^^^ :D
That is wikked's internet secret #892

car-part.com is your friend for finding what will swap onto what cars.
I tested them out once for hours on DSM parts, I figured they couldn't possibly know all the obscure stuff that goes from 1g to 2g etc... but I'll be damned if they weren't spot on!
Very trustworthy IMO.

V8sho.com has a list of people who weld cams - I would recommend Performance Plus (http://www.performance-plus.com/main.htm) out of Madison or NESHO (http://www.nesho.com), although they are out of Spencer, Mass., but does have Camfests around the U.S. and is great to work with. My boyfriend has brought a couple SHOs to Performance Plus and been happy with the work done as well.

Did the first engine's cams fail? If so, let me know. There's an ongoing list on V8sho.com for that because of the lawsuit.
