I was looking at a 700R4 and I was thinking would I need to shorten or lengthen my driveshaft with this trans? Previous trans in the car was a TH400.

Includes dip stick and TV cable. This is a non electronic version. Excellent Condition low miles. This trans shifts firm around town and hard under WOT.

I have a 700r4 with all the good parts in it. I also have 2800-3200 rpm stall converter. Right now it slips a little between second and third. I no longer use it because it will not hold up when using the nitrous. I might be willing to sell it or trade for some wheels. I have 500 in the converter. and almost a grand in the trans. I also have the shortened drive shaft. I believe it would fit in your Bu. Let me know if you are interested.

I'll be sparying nitrous as well so I'm not sure as to how well it'll work... If you can get it rebuilt to where it doesn't slip I'll trade you the Centerlines or Welds and throw you some cash.

I will need to see pics of the wheels and get the backspacing. But I could rebuild it if you are interested. How much cash.

Going from a th400 to a 700r4 is going 20 steps backwards. I would stick with a 400 or a 350.

rob,you can have an ultrabell put onto your case and that will be a solid fix for the crack in it.

Alright I did not know the 700r4 was going backwards compared to the th400 I'll do the ultrabell or find one that's built already. thanks guys

basically the 700R4/4L60 is a Turbo 350 with an additional gear, overdrive. casing length is the same, etc.


the Turbo 400 is the same as a 4L80, except the 4L80 is that additional gear, overdrive. thats oversimplification, but it's the basic idea.

i had maybe 300hp in front of my "built" 700r4 in my chevy truck and i always had problems, they said it was going bad cause of abuse. and the abuse it seen was an occasonal beat through the mud and larger tires. There is a couple people on here that could chime in and tell you the shit i went through with that pos.
