This is a imformative post

Most new cars have remote door openers. They also have panic buttons to locate your car if you forget where you parked. Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button! The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. Don't forget to dial 911 a make report.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you arrive at home for the night and you go to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and
requires no installation. Test it. It should go off from most everywhere inside your house unless the battery is weak. It will keep honking until you stop it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If you set off your car alarm when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglar or rapist won't stick around. After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that.

And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there... This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or prevent a sexual abuse crime

Not really the best option if walking to your car. You are better off yelling FIRE then using your car alarm. Why? Because how often do you walk around a parking lot or sit in your house and hear a car alarm going off. Do you run out to see what is going on? Most people are so use to car alarms that they really do not care. But if you yell Fire, people get worried that something they own might get damaged.

Well, the one on our Fusion works from a long long distance away... Maybe that's part of why Fusion is rated better than Camry and Accord by C&D... :thumbsup

The ones on the Mustangs do well also...
