Good movie, very true to the Frank Miller graphic novel version of the story. If you haven't seen it, the 6 issue graphic novel was excellent, as were all the Sin City stuff, Batman stuff, just about anything that guy has done. Also there was a 2 hour special on the History channel that was decent and gave a pretty good historical account that I am sure they will rerun. You could also pick up a number of books and read about the battles of Marathon, Thermopylae, Salamis, and Platea all of which are considered by most military historians to be some of the most important turning points in history, particularly where Western Civilization is concerned. The movie is even better if you have seen the comics and know the history of what is going on.

Saw it last night...very good film. Didn't think the GF would like it too much but she thought it was the best film she's seen in a while...which is saying alot.

There is a sense of melodrama to the movie...some of the lines and how they are delivered would be laughable elsewhere. But, knowing the source materials (graphic novels, aka really big comic books) it works perfectly for the movie. Very stylized.

About the only familiar face to me was the dude that plays faramir from LOTR.

It's worth the price of admission just for the boobs, imo.
